It's National Chocolate Mint Day today. Number one: Who comes up with these days?!?! This one seems sponsored by the Girl Scouts. I don't know about your area, but they are all over around here with their thin mints and other cookies! Luckily for me, they raised the price and as much as I love the organization, I can't justify the higher price. Number Two: Do you like Chocolate? Mint? Chocolate Mint together? I'm a little picky about my chocolate mint. The actual sugar mints? Nope! Nada. None for me. Now these? Yes please!!! Sign me up! Ice Cream - I'm iffy on. It depends on how good the ice cream itself is. So, are you a chocolate mint fan? What's your favorite?
I like both chocolate and mint but mostly separately. I have in the past enjoyed choc mint icecream but have not had any in years!
Yes!! Mint choc chip ice cream - my favorite ice cream! Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies - my favorite cookie (but the Dollar General brand is fabulous as well). I like them straight from the freezer! Andes - also a favorite when I want a treat York Peppermint Patties - they're ok. We used to put Junior Mints in our soda at the movie theater when I was younger. ETA: Peppermint Bark! My favorite holiday treat!
Yes, usually.... ALL the mint things for me! Sometimes, it can be too chocolaty and then I'll nix it. Though I don't know about those chocolate mint things you posted, Courtney. Are they soft? They look a little waxy, lol!
Thin Mints were my favorite GS cookies in the past but I stopped buying them over 25 years ago. They switched bakeries in this area and they just weren't the same then with the price increases/decrease in the amount of cookies over the years I just felt they weren't worth it. As for other chocolate mint combinations, that would be a no.
Ohhhhhhh!!!!! Thanks, girl @bestcee ! NOW I'm gonna hafta go get some mint and maybe some Oreo thins! Here in the South, we have mint juleps, I've tried one but meh. Do like a mojito now and then. I'd LOVE some Girl Scout Thin Mints, but they break the bank!!!
My daughter loathes choc mint - she says who wants to eat chocolate and brush your teeth at the same time? me I can enjoy them, but I would prefer mints or chocolate individually.
I like chocolate and I like mint but not together. Mint needs to be by itself. I like it to brush my teeth and freshen breath but I don’t like it with anything else.
Love love love all things chocolate mint...especially if it's dark chocolate mint! I also especially love Ben and Jerry's Chocolate Mint Cookie ice cream...yum!
Oh yes! I love chocolate mint anything. Yummy! For a long time Mint Chocolate chip ice cream was all I would eat. Now I'm adding more chocolate with chocolate chunks/cashews into the rotation. Growing up we ALWAYS made "girl scout cookies" at Christmas time. They are SO good and so easy to make. You melt a bag of chocolate chips with a tiny bit of oil and about 1/2 tsp of mint extract (I'd have to check my recipe for the exact amounts) and then dip Ritz crackers in the melted chocolate. Let them cool on wax paper and then enjoy. SO much cheaper than buying the real ones. And I really love the salty Ritz crackers with the chocolate on top. Yum!
My Mom just texted it to me. Girl Scout Cookies For each stack of Ritz: 1-12 oz bag chocolate chips 1/4 teaspoon peppermint extract 2 tablespoons vegetable oil Melt and dip. Yum!
Chocolate mint season is the only light at the end of the tunnel for me when it's pumpkin spice season.
I like chocolate & mint, but I don't love mint things on their own. I even use cinnamon toothpaste instead of mint. This thread reminded me of an old page of mine. A doctor I worked for always had York Peppermint Patties in his drawer. So, I made him cupcakes for his 40th bday. My coworker was the taste-tester leading up to the big day. He loved those cupcakes.
I'm picky, yes to some and no to others. I love Stash's choc mint tea, Ghirardelli's choc mint squares, After 8 choc mint thins and Good Eats or Think choc mint protein bar. I've tried lots of bars, cookies, etc and don't care for most. I can't eat the ice cream, that is just yucky to me. It's funny how discerning my palate is to choc mint combos and some I love and others I can't stand.
I was not into the whole chocolate mint combo until we moved to Hershey. They make these mint chocolate bells during Christmas that are amazing. And have you tried the new Kit Kat Duo? Dark chocolate and mint. It is incredible.
