This was an interesting/awesome challenge. I definitely kinda learned something? I just messed around a lot and I love the way it turned out! I would love to learn more about how to do these type of graphics! Thank you! Steps taken & Items used: 1. Dynamic Brushes on Soft Light blend mode 2. 2 Layers of nbk-MOC8-gesso-paints7 on Divide blend mode 3. 2 layers of nbk-MOC8-paintstroke2 on Soft Light blend mode 4. nbk-MOC8-gesso-paints1 on Soft Light for background showing through on bottom right 5. 2 layers of nbk-MOC8-gesso-paints5 on Soft Light blend mode to round out eye and nose 6. nbk-MOC8-paintstroke5 (2) on Soft Light blend mode for some texture above the eye 7. nbk-MOC8-Paper-abstract as background bottom layer 8. nbk-MOC8-Paper-abstract as top layer on Overlay blend mode, opacity at 11%
I used the canvas background, and then used the brushes to burn and also usedbrushes to add the green and kharki. I tried to ligthten the overlay over the fish without using the eraser but I dont think it was too sucessful. Thank you for the kit.
I used MOC8-paintstroke 4 (the black ones, using overlay blend modes), paintstroke 10 (using soft light blend mode... then duplicated over each other to help bring out more texture), I used the white versions of paintstrokes 1, 6, 7 and 8 with "darker color" blend modes over my photo. My photo has two layers - a color version, and a black and white version. Both have been set to Pin Light blend modes. I do have a layer mask on the photo in a rough outline of the heart frame... I just used a basic round brush for that part. 20171204hikedatesmall by klee73010 posted Jan 31, 2020 at 10:33 PM
My son works on his music every day. He took this group of selfies (using a remote I got him for Christmas) during one of his standard recording sessions. He really, really loved the finished page. I may frame it for his room.
Really not sure if this is right... I added the three brushes to my photo and blended them with "soft light". Hopefully they are visible enough to see. nbk-MOC8-paintstroke2.png nbk-MOC8-paintstroke3.png nbk-MOC8-gesso-paints7.png
I used: Paper-Abstract Paintstrokes 1, 2, 4, and 8 in addition to adding a reddish color and using blending modes and opacity adjustments on several layers
I used all of the Gesso paints under the photo. The photo is set to Linear Burn and the photomask was made using the various dynamic brushes. On top of the photo, I have nine layers of dynamic brushes in different blend modes. I also used some magic lights from NBK on top of the image.
Thanks for the great challenge and collection of brushes! I had a lot of fun trying out different things to create a painted look! I used Paintstroke 2, 3, 4, 6 & 8 to create a mask for the photo and I blended Paper Abstract and a couple of Painstrokes 5 on top of it to give it a paint texture.
Canvas & oil paint papers, All dynamic brushes except 1-3. Paint drops 3 & 5, paint strokes 5, 9, & 10. All gesso paints.
Sigh, my laptop is slowly dying so working with lots of layers and stuff really caused it major issues. This took hours. I'm happy enough with the mask (used paintstrokes 3, 4 and 5) and the canvas paper. I then spent ages trying to get more texture onto there, but I really struggled. I did use additional items paintstrokes 2 and 8 as well as gesso paints 7 and 9, some used over the masked photo and others to add interest and texture around the page. Close up ETA thank you so much for the wonderful free elements.
Oh my! I don’t know that I have a clue as to what I did! I don’t even know if it qualifies for the challenge! I was unable to get the effect of the photo actually being painted on. I guess I just don’t understand what I am doing! I definitely want to learn! I love playing with brushes! I used: Gesso Paint strokes #7 behind and around the edges of the photo. Paint Strokes #1, 4, & 5 to create masks and then duplicated the photo to clip to each layer. I also put layer masks on some of the photo layers and used several of the same paint strokes to hide straight edges. Paint stroke #5 in pink to add a few paint strokes on top of the photos and used “Lighter color” blending mode. Paint stroke #10 to add a painted edge to the layout. THIS WAS HARD!! I reached out to a couple other Artisan users trying to get more direction - thanks @Trish and @bonnenuit . I used paintstrokes 2, 5 and 9 and gesso paint 1. I also used the canvas background. I hope I did this right - not my favorite page but at least it's done. Please let me know if I need to make any changes!!
Thanks for the challenge!! NBK Dsigns - MOC 8 Painters Toolbox -MOC8 Paint Stroke 2 -MOC8 Paint Stroke 4 -MOC8 Paint Stroke 7 -MOC8 Paper Canvas Also used Rachel Jeffries - Salt Air
