Boy oh boy, I really struggled with this one. Not so much with how to do it, but more that I wasn't happy with the way it was turning out. Anyway, I'm glad it's finally done! Focal point photo created with paintstroke5, paintstroke9, paintstroke10 (soft light) and gesso-paints9, gesso-paints8 (linear burn) plus I added the canvas paper back on top of it with an overlay blend mode and opacity of 30%.
NOT a style I generally utilize at all, but I'm fairly pleased with how it turned out.. Thank you for the beautiful mini kit.. It made this much easier than it otherwise would have been for me. used: paint stroke 2, 3, gesso 1, 9, oil paint paper
I hope I did that right... Canvas paper gesso paint 1 paintstroke 8 Paintstroke 4 gesso paint 7 gesso paint 8

I must admit, this challenge frustrated me; I'm not a big brush user. However, I'm really glad that I persisted through this because it taught me a lot! Thanks for hosting this @Dalis and for the wonderful free kit from NBK too as it's given me a new taste for and appreciation of this style. Brushes: paintbrush - blue - to paint the boardwalk, overlay blend mode Paintbrush - red - to paint the brush in the sand, soft light blend mode Paintstroke3 - to paint the sky, screen blend mode Gesso Paints3 - another paint of the sky, overlay mode Gesso Paints Green - edge interior paper frame Gesso Paints 1, 7 - to frame image Paper: Canvas
I used a paint stroke over my photo twice with 2 different filters, I also masked the photo with the background paper to give the image a canvas look.
For sure the hardest and most time consuming one yet! ... So obviously, I love it! January is the month to learn new stuff! For texture I used: the canvas paper, paintstroke 7, paintstroke 9 and paintstroke 5. As a mask I combined paintstroke 6, paintstroke 1 and paintstroke 2.

Finally did mine and I'm so grateful for this challenge. This is my favorite layout from MOC8. I used dynamic brushes 491, 454, and 455 and regular brush 1849 plus the canvas paper for the background and as an overlay.
Here's mine. I used Paint strokes 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 for the mask and then Canvas Paper, Paint strokes 9, 10, and Gesso paints 4, 6, 8.
