JAN 27 - Paintstroke Picture

Thank you for the challenge Dalis and a special thanks to Nicole for this great mini. I loved this challenge!



From the mini, I used the paper canvas, gesso paint 1 und 8 under the photo.
On top of the photo:
dynamic brush gesso paint green, blend mode overlay at the right side of the photo,
dynamic brush gesso paint blue, blend mode divide giving the red hue in the sky and the building,
gesso paints 9, paintstroke 9, gesso paints 7, paint stroke 5
the mask was created with several brushes of the mini.

 

Wow! I've learned a lot throughout this MOC, but this one taught me more than all the others combined! Thanks so much for this challenge and the awesome description of what you did I followed that for 90% before I started venturing out on my own!

I used from the mini-kit: canvas paper (2 in Blend Mode) - paintstroke 5, 10 - gesso paint. 2, 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9 all with many blend modes!

 

Thank you so much for this challenge @Dalis and thank you also @NBK-Design for the super brushes. I had a blast !

Brushes, various ones but mostly;
brush 425, Brush 454 brush 491 ( all paint strokes )
brush 473 texture and the gesso brush at an opacity of 25/30
one of them also as an eraser for the edge ( cant remember which one )
blend modes ;
Multiply,colour burn, linier burn .

 

Thank you Nicole for the paint kit and thanks Dalis for the challenge. When I first read it this morning I thought "this is the end of the line for me" as I knew my old PS software doesn't take dynamic brushes. But after I downloaded the kit and looked at its contents, I thought "yes, I can do this -- even without dynamic brushes." I had great fun playing with this and am sure I'll use it many times in the future.



Here's what I used from the NBK paint kit:
Canvas paper
paintstroke # 1 - hard mix
paintstroke # 3 - dissolve
Paintstroke #5 & # 9
gesso paint # 9 - lightened

 

First I made a sketch of my photo and than I painted in different layers - different blending modes ...

 

Gesso
1 1 Multiply
2 2 x 2 Multiply and lighten
3 3 Multiply
Paintstroke:
4, 5, 7 to create mask
9, and 10 Color Dodge

I used the following from nbk's lovely kit:

gesso paints 3 (on background - blended)

 

I have never ever used gesso or paint strokes ontop of a photo! I am so blown away, always used to erase on layer mask, and I am now certifiably addicted! what a great morning I had! Thank you to @NBK-Design designs, for supplying the beautiful canvas paper and brushes and more...(and the over the rainbow collection) and @Dalis for enabling me for a new technique, I may use ALL the time! wow!

I used the NBK paintstroke 5, gesso paints 3 and paper canvas with my photo. I made the color in the paintstroke 5 to be reddish brown. I used those NBK items in my photo. I also used Forever Joy's Wild at Heart kit, bonuses 3 and 5, snip be awesome, wa man myth, paint star, brad dream big, snip be brave, snip adventure and pp 5b. The Star Gate is a coaster in my house, I took a pic of it to add it in. (the large circle with symbols and blue in the middle.)

I was getting nervous about this but then I realized something, the worse thing that can happen is our moderator asks me to make it over, how terrible would that be? I have to scrap more, lol.

I've used Gesso Paint 1 (incrustation) , gesso paints 7 (recolorized), gesso paint 2, paintstroke 5 (incrustation+recolor), painstroke 4 and paper canvas fro blending.

Oh, this is so up my alley!!! I have been buying Nicole’s stuff since 2 sites ago for her... but have never stopped to learn how to really use it all... so a great challenge for me... this will be fun... laughing at the times people have posted... I am often still up at 3am , while I am seeing the early posters from the other side of the world are already posting the next days challenge at that time! So I am just headed to bed while they are well into another day! No wonder I am always one of the late posters. That said I know Sharron is my time zone, but she has a husband and runs on normal hours! No middle of the night scrapping for her. Off to play!
