January 14 - Photography Technique Silhouette

I love taking silhouette photos and do it all the time. What was a challenge for me on this one was how to work into the August 2019 album that I am trying to complete! I figured it out last night while talking the challenges thru with my 19 yo son. A new picture of one of the items that we purchased and the story of the scavenger hunt of trying to get them. The bold silhouette of them makes the page stand out better than just the pics that I captured of them on the trip.

 

Here we go... this was challenging to take a silhouette our skies weren't cooperating! Found one in my stash!

 

Great Challenge. Finally had a sunrise here that was pretty.

 

This was the best I could do with the dreary grey days we have this time of year in Michigan.

After many failed attempts, we got a pretty good photo!

Here is mine, I converted the photo to black and white, hope that's ok and still in-keeping with the challenge I just felt the bright colours of Minnie distracted from their silhouettes and I wanted those to be more of a focus. Please let me know if you want me to change it back to colour.

I've had the pic since the 14th, but wasn't really thrilled with it. The plan was just hold off, see if I could manage to get a better snap, but as the days wore on and I kept not getting a better opportunity/subject I thought that plan might come back to bite me.

So I decided to sit down and play with what I have ... and you know, not bad. It's better than some of the things I've turned in so I'm just running with it.
