As much as I love the idea of the challenge I don't really like my finished layout. That's a first - but I guess that moment had to come sometime during the month, right? So I've put it aside for now and have another look at it tomorrow. Fingers crossed, it's just love at second sight.
Another LO done entirely on my iPad with PS for iPad. https://the-lilypad.com/forum/galleries/moc8_-19_cut-out-technique_golf-dreams.419216/
yes! smart objects need to be rasterized. in PS if you pull in your papers as smart objects - go to Layers > Rasterize > Smart Objects this is called simplify in PSE Maureen? are the steps the same - just the name simplify vs rasterize is different?
Here is mine Thanks Jenn for a fun challenge.. my cut out is of the coffee cup shaped element (I put the coffee bean paper underneath) This was fun!
I Don't Understand How To Do This At All...My Program Doesn't Work That Way...I Somewhat Tried It In Photoshop Elements...I Can't Figure This Out At All...I Can't Even Figure Out How To Make A Shape For The Second Layer...I Started Creating A Layout @jenn mccabe Using My Program...I Don't Think This Is What You Want...But I'm Gonna Send You A Copy Of It In A PM...I Don't Know How To Do This...Either Way...Let Me know If The Layout Works...If Not Then I'm In Trouble...Thanks Again RJMJ
do the shapes have to repeat? in other words does each shape have to be the same? can it be alphas? and spell so9mething?
you can do different shapes if your heart desires - i'm leaving the # of cut outs and the shape decision up to you guys!
RJMJ Look at the information I posted with the screen shot and the information for PSE https://the-lilypad.com/forum/threads/january-19-cut-out-background.69312/page-2#post-1211424 PSE users (even PS works the same way) Here is a screen print from PSE to help you... With the element on the layer: Place 2 papers in your work space. One on the bottom and then above that place a patterned paper. Choose an element and place on your workspace or a use a custom shape in PSE. hold down control and click on the element in your layer panel. That will put the selection/marching ants aound the shape of the element. Select layer of your pattern paper and then you just need to go to Layer >New> Via cut... that puts your element shape cut out of the patterned paper on a new layer. Continue doing that for the 95%.. for each of your element shapes just rotate a bit above where you cut them out Add shadows and decorate
I answered this with your other question @bjc - but just in case - the # of cut shapes you make is totally up to you.
