Day 8 - Build Your Own Tree Products: From Up Here Paper Pack by Lynn Grieveson Memory Keeper Elements by Paislee Press Requirements: trunk & branches: Sharpie pen on paper no. 3 treetop/crown: paper no. 7 with Sharpie pen outline leaves: paper no. 20 - triangles cut out individually to represent leaves Extra: There is an interactive element at the top. Pull on the tab to reveal the picture. (see second image) Journaling: Australia is burning for months now. They are experiencing the worst bush fires known to date. More than seven hectares of land have been burnt - so far. 23 people have been killed - so far. And more than 480 million animals have died in the fires. The pictures are heartbreaking and if I could I'd rather not think about what it means, that these fires have generated more than 250 million tones in carbon dioxide emissions and that the koala is basically functionally extinct. Their strategy how to deal with bush fires no longer works and so they burn sitting in the treetops where they are looking for safety. This is why I donated to the Wildlife Rescue today. Just because I'm far away, because I'm healthy and my home is safe, it doesn't mean that I can be a spectator. And looking aways from what's going on is no option at all. Even though it's almost 13 years since my visit to Australia's East cost, the memories of the time there is now more present than ever. The view from the lookout in the Blue Mountains, the cold night in the car and the engine that did not want to start the next morning. The visit to the koala hospital and the scrubby little fella on my arm. Sand boarding on Morton Island. Snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef. An amazing time.
This was a challenge and I love how my page turned out. I started with a template and adjusted it a bit. The center paper is my "trunk." I added leaves, flowers, and word strips to finish out my tree.
Let me start by saying that I LOVED this challenge! I had no idea how it would go but I am so happy with my final result! Thanks for doing this one @bellbird
I absolutely love this challenge, and all the amazing pages it has produced. Thank you for hosting, Justine. Mine
Day 8 Build A Tree - created with Kristin Aagard's Winter Woodland kit https://the-lilypad.com/forum/galleries/01_08-build-a-tree.416797/
This one stumped me for awhile. I spent a lot of time looking at how others were interpreting this, combing through my stash, starting down one path only to reject it. My mind finally settled on an idea and then it came together relatively quickly. So thank you for truly challenging me.
I’m a big sap at the moment (pardon the pun). But when I saw this beautiful challenge I knew exactly what to do. Thank you Justine, this was a such a reminder for me and was timed so perfectly.
Finally got mine done! Trunk is the brown cardboard and the photo with mat. The branches are the pre-made paint elements with red circles. The leaves are the foliage.
