Just had a phone call from the hospital saying my mum’s long awaited heart surgery is next Thursday.....bit of a mad rush to sort everything out but am glad it will finally be done after 18 months of waiting
Wishing your mom the best of luck with her surgery next week. Hopefully everything goes very smoothly and she has a good recovery.
Wow! That is a whirlwind, but I'm glad she's finally on the schedule! Good luck and wishing her an easy recovery.
We always knew we’d only have about a weeks notice at best so we are coping the best we can.....with lots of lists of bits that need doing over the next few days once she’s done her last day of work today. Have to prepare quite a bit as I won’t see her for 3 weeks most likely since it’s not our local hospital where she’ll be (even though she’ll only be in hospital about a week, she’s going to recuperate for a couple of weeks at my grandmothers house as there isn’t 14 stairs to climb up to get inside and also in case I end up travelling for a final job interview).
That’s such wonderful news, Jennifer!!! I’ll be praying for her speedy recovery. I hope that life slows down for you soon. We miss you in our Fitbit group! Big hugs and much love, sweetie!
That’s a whole other issue to be quite honest - got replacement parts which still don’t allow me to charge my fitbit so debating what my next steps are as I’m out of warranty and don’t have a spare $150-200 to get a new one (well I do but it’s called money set aside for next job interview so I’d rather not touch it)
That stinks, Jennifer. I’m hoping my Blaze will keep going a bit longer. I’ve spent a small fortune on various bands, and I dread having to toss them all. When you’re ready to jump back in, just let me know, and I’ll add you back to the group.
I'm glad she's finally got a date set & it must be such a relief that you won't have to have this still hanging over your heads, waiting is the worst
It’s only taken a week less than 18 months to get to this point so relief is an understatement. it is good to have a date even though it is in 4 days and we have 1001 things to do before she goes (nothing major, just lots of little jobs like prepaying bills, building up a freezer stash of meals etc). The timing works perfectly for her to take 6ish weeks off work as there are lots of college and university students finishing study for the year so can pick up hours while she’s off (she is one of the only full time non management staff members)
the joy of our public health system plus the fact that only one hospital out of 4 in the region does the actual cardiac surgery
