I KNOW that I have seen a REALLY GOOD write up on this on one of the designer's blogs (I thought it was @esahin but I have searched for a while and haven't found it yet...). Anyhow, I've cut out elements before using my Silhouette but it is really hit and miss whether they cut out well and I am just looking for a new method to try. So if someone knows of the tutorial on cutting out digital elements with Silhouette, please share.
I don't have a silhouette, but I found this thread in the forum that may help. https://the-lilypad.com/forum/threads/silhouette-cameo-help.62941/#post-1136701
Is this the one you were thinking of? https://creativefindingsblog.wordpress.com/tag/silhouette-cameo/page/23/
There's a tutorial on the Lilypad blog: https://the-lilypad.com/tutorial-print-cut-digi-elements-with-the-silhouette/ Complete with video
This post was shared earlier but this specific post in the thread from @Karen was what helped me figure it out. If only all the things I wanted to do were this easy, lol. https://the-lilypad.com/forum/threads/silhouette-cameo-help.62941/#post-1136614
I can't remember who here taught me the trick to do the black .png version (like in the thread @Kat referenced above) to use for tracing in the Silhouette software so the edges are exactly where I want them, but that was definitely the biggest helper for me doing the cut and print feature with the Silhouette. If you come across something more specific you need help with, just shout!
I don't have a specific Silhouette article that mentions how to "accurately" cut with silhouette but these are the ones that mentions how to cut with the Silhouette machine; https://sahindesigns.com/how-to-transform-a-printable-into-a-cut-file/ https://sahindesigns.com/how-to-stitch-on-scrapbook-layout/
