Welcome to the October Style Challenge! As I was looking around for some style inspiration, I came across an article on the biggest design trends of 2019. One of them was colorful minimalism. I usually associate minimalism with simple, uncluttered design and lots of literal white space. Colorful minimalism still has that pared down aesthetic, but also incorporates bold color. Here are some examples. Your challenge this month is to create a minimalist page using bold color. Think of it as a riff on the traditional c&s page. Here are the rules: 1. No white/light/neutral backgrounds 2. You may use a maximum of 5 elements on the page. So.. this ended up being much harder for me than I thought. I'm not completely in love with the page, but here's what I came up with. Maybe I'll play around a little more with this. Can't wait to see your pages! Gentle Reminder: Your page must contain at least 75% Lilypad product. Your page should be posted to the Lilypad Gallery and then linked to the October Challenge Layouts thread so it can be tracked, and to this thread. The Lilypad uses a percent system for our challenges; the number of challenges you participate in determines the store discount you will receive at the end of the month: 2 challenges = 10% off 4 challenges = 20% off 6 challenges = 30% off If you complete 7 challenges, you will receive a coupon for 30% off, plus you will be entered to win a $50 gift certificate from the Lilypad! The first seven challenges will be posted on the first of the month; the eighth challenge is the BYOC challenge, which is posted on BYOC release day. Each page counts for one challenge (you cannot use one layout for multiple challenges).
Can The Bright Background Paper Be A Print Or Large Floral Or Stripes? As Opposed To A Bright Solid?...Thanks In Advance...
This is a great challenge! Minimalist, no white page, emphasizing color.....I'm in! I'll get a page done soon. Love to get shoved out of my scrappy comfort zone
Wow this was really hard to only add 5 items. The eyelets was one piece that I cut to spread across the page.
Hey There Everyone...Have To Say That I Struggle With The Idea Of Minimalist Anything...That Being Said...Eventhough My Layout Is Bold...I Believe That I Did Follow All The Rules...I Used 1 Paper...It Is Bold Indeed But I Did Not Add Anything To The Paper...All That Paint Is On The Original Paper...All I Did Was Play With The Color Contrast & Brightness Etc & Recolor It...Next I Added My 1 Photo...& Then My Five Allowable Elements: #1.The Butterfly(ReColored) #2. My 3 WA(ReColored) #3. The Large Stamp Under The Photo(It Is All 1 Stamp-I Did Not Add Anything To It Either...Except That I ReColored It...) *So That's 5 Elements Total...You Did Not Specify The Size Of The Photo...So I Went With The Size I Liked... *For My BOLD Be You Layout-I Used: *Utterly & Completely-Bundle-Rachel Jefferies *Citron:Mixed Media Artistry-Rachel Jefferies
