paper does not count as an element; it doesn't have to be the shape of the animal - for example, you could have a heart with a design of an animal on it

Here's mine - it came together really quickly thanks to a great template and fun theme! I chose directions #1, 2, 3, 5, and 7 and didn't have to do the twist. Thanks for a fun template challenge!

I blurred out the photo because only one of the kids in the photo is mine, also... um... yeah I didn't read the instructions so good, so I did all 8 of the things:

    1. Have one photo. - Yup
    2. Have four patterned papers. - Background paper (to which a metallic paint style was applied), + 3 of the layering papers.
    3. Use paint splatter. - Lower right side
    4. Have a non-neutral background (no whites, creams, blacks, greys, browns or navy). - Yup!
    5. Place title on photo. - It does overlap.
    6. Use both a button(s) and staple(s). - Staple is holding paper strips at the top together. Button is on upper right side.
    7. Journal more than 40 words. - Yup
    8. Have an animal element. - Mosquito on left side of journal card.

Thank you for hosting. I posted in the SWL Group FB page. I used Artsy Journal volume 24 template by Scrapping with Liz, Keepsake of You Bundle by PattyB Scraps and staple from In the Meadow by ADB Designs.

I chose one photo, four different pattern papers, non-neutral background, journaling more than 40 words and used both staple and button.

I don't really understand the MIS challenges. I don't see it listed in the calendar. Also, when I finally did see it at 9:15p.m. Saturday July 6, I felt like I'd already missed it, and never knew if there was a live place to be. Do I need to be signed up somewhere to get notification that the challenge is "on?" I would also like specific dates mentioned instead of just the words "today" or "tonight" or "tomorrow." This is not the first one I've missed out on because of these things. Sorry to be so dense. I just love challenges, and hate to miss ANY! Thanks, Sharron

Well, I was trying for the drawing, but I'm too slow! And, when I finally got around to finishing it up I realized I misread the instructions and did all 8! Whoops! I apparently need to read slower, scrap faster! :lol
