that’s what we are hoping. What’s even more intriguing is the same hospital but different department can do testing and arrange an appointment at a private specialist in 7 weeks from the time the referral from our gp went in - now part of the reason is i’ve picked up a cancelled appointment spot 24 hours after doing the test rather than in 3 weeks (i’m lucky that my work is in a lull at the moment while they recruit interview participants so can do it now whereas end of the month we should be doing the interviews).
Ugh! Not as bad, but my husband called a few weeks ago to reschedule a doctor's visit (just a regular checkup) that was set for end of May (Since he finally got his work schedule!). His rescheduled appt? in 4 months - end of August. Ugh! So now he has to try to make sure he's off that day. Otherwise, he may be calling in sick.
Oh Jennifer! That's so disheartening. I hope your mom's GP was able to help? Or is that appointment this Friday? @littlekiwi
She’s seen her dr already, he said 40 weeks is the maximum it should be and that while he has limited power to change that he’d write a letter to the hospital and see if they will shorten the wait
Well it’s seems to have worked a treat - my mum just got word that the stress test that was 40 weeks away (February 2020) after some magic words from our dr (the same one that managed to get the referral for me accepted by the hospital in 6 weeks) is next Monday - 8 months earlier than originally suggested by the hospital.
@littlekiwi Oh yay!!!! so happy to read this Jennifer!! I bet your Mum is super excited to get this done and over with!! All the very best to her!!
@littlekiwi Jennifer that is great news. So glad you talked to the doctor to ask for a speed up Prayers for your Mum so she can get care and treatment she needs to feel better soon!
