I have totally done that, Jan. My hose is very long and sometimes when I pick it up, it flips and the nozzle turns on me.
I've had about enough of rain. It wasn't supposed to rain today but I got half way through the lawn and bam...thunderstorm :/ Enjoy your visit with your relatives!!
Those photos are so great!! Looks like an amazing service! And I even know where Ballantyne is! I have a niece, an aunt and uncle, and several cousins who live in the Charlotte area and I've spent lots of time in that area.
So yesterday I pulled weeds and trimmed grass with my lawn scissors. The lawn care people planted grass in my flower bed so I gave up this year, but a few hardy black eyed Susan's came up anyway. So I hand trimmed around them. I threw on some sunscreen but missed a few spots and so I got my first burn of the season, but nothing bad. Last night, we finally used the Ruth's Chris gift cards my hubby got me as a Christmas gift 1.5 years ago. It was divine! In fact, I just ate my leftover dessert for dinner tonight. Created one layout before I went off to bed. Today was church and then I went with a friend to make cards. I even stamped (and didn't screw it up!). And now I am thinking I need to scrap up a page or two or three. And I am wishing it would rain. I think I am going to have to water this week to keep that new grass alive. It is in the 90s now and of course, the AC in the van went out. 1 week until baby girl graduates high school 3 weeks until oldest son gets married Then I can scrap the rest of the summer (I hope)
@IntenseMagic - Have you looked at JC Penny's? I found both my dress for the rehearsal dinner and mine for the wedding there.
Today, I'm re-arranging my kitchen cupboards. I HOPE next weekend to have a crew of about 10 energetic young adults to help unload a 53 ft trailer - loosely packed and not anywhere near full to get the rest of my kitchen and dining room stuff out of storage and into the house, along with my sewing machines and crafting stuff into my new "me" space. I've had a space for ONE month of the last 12 years and I am so excited! I'm cooking riblets and the trimmings for them and it should only take a couple of hours if they just get on it. So, I'm going to be ready to unload it all and put it all away by rearranging now. It's sure not as easy as it was even 12 years ago, let alone when I could pack, move, and move in in a week in the 70s, 80s, even the 90s and early 2000s. Sigh! I know age is a state of mind - except when it catches up to you and it's not!
I'm just picking at you . . . maybe . . . I'd record me doing it but I don't think my legs do that anymore. **giggle**
Ohh that reminds me that I have an Olive Garden gift card from Christmas that I still haven't used! I love bringing home dessert! So many exciting things coming up! Congrats on all! I've looked at JCPenney online, but haven't been to the store yet. I usually have good luck there and my plan is to head to the mall one day this week or next weekend. I can hit Hobby Lobby for decorations at the same time
Congrats on the wedding! That's a bit stressful for sure! We had a garage sale yesterday (made about $200!) so today is rest & recover from that! lol! I am actually quite sore today- all that lifting & walking around & then packing up the leftovers to take to donate was a good workout too! Today we did a bit of laundry, usual sunday strip beds stuff. Otherwise pretty low key. Perfect sunday! Right now the kids are outside playing & the hubby is mowing the lawn. I'm trying to catch up on some scrapping from being sick early in the week!
Good luck with all your re-arranging and unpacking! I totally understand how age can catch up with you!
Hahahaha! I'm not sure mine do, and I did go back out to finish mowing, but totally forgot about the video...next time I mow I'm going to try just for fun
Awesome on the garage sale! Last time I had one, I think I made a couple of dollars haha. We had a big community yard sale and for some reason, no one made it as far as my house LOL Sounds like a lovely Sunday! Enjoy the rest of it!
The wedding planning sounds so fun... I think there's something to be said for not having a long time to stress out about things. This morning we went to church. Clara was ordained and installed as an elder for the next session (as a youth, she'll only serve on year though, instead of the normal three). I had a major sinus headache, so a nap was in order (it's the only way I can every get over a sinus headache). Now we're watching the Cubs.
I’m just resting at the moment, but today’s plan is I have to do a tiny bit of work this afternoon for my contract work, do groceries. The rest of the week is pretty cruisy for the beginning of the week but is busier towards the end as I have a job interview on Friday with some prep to do beforehand.
The weekend is over for me here Down Under. It is Monday morning and I have finished the washing but have not hung it out as we are having light showers of rain. I have been making greeting cards with one being for my son-in-law which I hope to get in the mail this afternoon. I am hoping it gets to Calgary, Canada in time for his birthday on 4th June. My daughter and family are in Canada for three months. I miss them already. Hopefully we will skype soon. I am also making Koala themed cards for a charity. I am in a Card Swap Facebook group and one of the leaders is involved in Koala rescue and wants cards for selling to raise funds.
For me resting is just part of life for another two weeks til I’m seen by the sleep specialist again.
We've had two busy weekends in a row (ugh!) so I'm hoping I get to chill at the house a little over Memorial Day weekend. This past weekend, I went grocery shopping, took my kids to my daughter's school's fun fair, did laundry, took the kids to visit my grandfather in his new apartment, went birthday gift shopping, took my son to a bouncy place birthday party (and had to stay -- double ugh!), helped my daughter redo her trifold for her big end-of-the-year project, went to work for a special three-times-a-year meeting, made dinner 2x, helped my parents & sister move stuff out of my grandfather's old apartment + took some of his cookware that he no longer wants/doesn't have room for, dug out my daughter's shot records for her well check this afternoon, & created an agenda for my first meeting as President for the non-profit I've been volunteering with for the last 3 years. I think I might have scrapped a page, too, but I'm not sure.
Laundry & packing! We are headed to DC this afternoon for a week. Any tips? Anything we should definitely see beyond the normal stuff?
