Hey all. I am trying to start a couple genealogy groups on Facebook and want to make cover photos/banners for the group. I have done this in the past but when I just tried my entire banner did not fit. I have 22.8" x 11.9" but it cut part of my banner off at that size.

Does anyone know the dimensions? Thanks!!

Thanks Jenn. I use Artisan and it only allows me to customize by inches or millimeters.

Actually I'm starting family pages for my ancestors. I've been connecting with a lot of distant cousins and looking for a good way to share photos and stories.

Are you looking for scrapbooking genealogy groups or genealogy help groups...I belong to a lot!! :)

I am a member of many but always love checking out new groups :) I made a page for the family to share photos as well! I try to have group chats as well and post a photo of an ancestor and ask those who knew the person to write memories of that person.
Scrapbooking genealogy groups sound cool though!! Please PM me

Decide if you are saving it at 72 dpi or 96 dpi. Then take your number of pixels and divide it by 72 (or 96). That will give you the dimension in inches. Do the same for the other dimension. Now you have the size of your project in inches for Artisan.

The size of the cover photo for an individual cover photo and a Group cover photo are different shapes
    Individual: 820 pixels x 312 pixels
    Group: 1,640 pixels x 856 pixels

If those sizes seem too big to you, you can also divide by another dpi, say 200dpi. It doesn't really matter because Artisan is going to work at 300dpi. It is when you save it as jpg that it will ask what dpi you want. And even if you pick 200dpi, Facebook will reduce it once you upload it. So really what you need is the relationship (ratio) between the two sides.

Ha ha - I have many hidden talents. Actually, my college degree is Computer Science and I worked as a programmer up to manger for 20+ years before I became a SAHM and homeschooler.
