Welcome to the third week of the April Monthly Muse which is all about backgrounds. This week, we are going to focus on doodles/brushwork/overlays, using these digital products to create interest but not detract from the main art journal focus (photo/drawing/words/products). These products can help to set a mood for your page i.e. dark messy scribbles might help to give a sense of chaos, of dark thoughts. More whimsical doodles might help to give a sense of lightness to your page, to add a sense of amusement or positivity to your design. Your choice of products may also help to direct the focus to a particular area of your page i.e. scribbles around a selected word or image to bring added focus to it. Doodles/brushwork/overlays can be a subtle but very effective in your page design. You might use these to frame your page, to add emphasis to an area of your page....you decide. Have fun with it. TLP has a section for doodles, you can check it out HERE. April Muse: Week 3 - Subtle Doodles/Stamping/Overlays Add doodles/stamping/overlays to your page design, in any way you wish. Here are some samples to get you thinking. Here's my page. I used doodled flowers, hearts and an arrow to help direct focus on the page and also to re-enforce the positive aspects of the page. You may create any style of layout (ie. clean and simple, artsy, pocket style etc.) you wish, with or without photos. Create any size page you wish. This is for everyone, so have fun and see where the inspiration takes you. If you want all 4 Muses ( 1 for each week this month) on one page that's perfectly ok or you can make 4 separate pages!! It's totally up to you! Please post your layout to the Art Journaling Gallery HERE prior to April 30, 2019 and then post it in this thread by copying the code (at the right of your gallery image) from the box under "Share BB Code". We will draw a winner at the beginning of next month for a coupon!! You can use any products in The Lilypad store or retired products from current Lilypad designers, (just make sure you follow our gallery guidelines).

Thanks for hosting, Rae. Here's my layout. It's a picture of my oldest granddaughter Ava sitting on the swing.
Perfect challenge for me right now, as I'm learning to use ProCreate. One of the exciting things about it is painting my own backgrounds. https://the-lilypad.com/forum/galleries/04-19_wk3_background_twins.393265/
Thanks for the challenge. I really like the idea of blocking with paint so I carried it over from week 2 along with the doodle.
