ETA: You can see the whole photobook as I unpack it from the printers here. Shutterfly has a great sale on photobooks plus free extra pages offer this weekend and at first I thought 'Dang, I haven't finished my Europe travel book' yet. But then I decided to take it as a challenge so for the next few days I am going to be on a scrapping marathon as I finish the photobook! I am going to be using two sets of templates and mixing them up: https://the-lilypad.com/store/Perfectly-Photobooked-Bundle.html https://the-lilypad.com/store/Merge-in-Style-bundle.html I'll update here as I go and hopefully that'll be motivation to get it done! Wish me luck .... Here I go: Created so far: This is the town we stopped at our our drive home from the mountains, which seemed like a bit of a sad and dated spa town (look at that casino sign!) and was deserted: Then we went down on alleyway and saw some women resting their feet in a thermal pool as they walked home with their shopping. We did the same, and it was so hot! I blended two photos together for the tall photo here. And just across the road from the hot footbath was a cable car up to the ski field, so we couldn't resist going up for hot chips (we don't ski - I tried once, it was mortifying. I couldn't even stand up LOL) The next day we drove from our place across the border into Spain to visit the Salvador Dali museum. So bizarre. Daughter-Two loved it! The middle lower photo on the last page is taken through a window, then I upped the brightness and contrast quite dramatically I AM BACK! last ones for the day! We drive back home via the fishing town turned resort of Cadaques, which was nearly completely deserted mid-winter, mid-week. DH taught DD how to skip stones ... It was getting very dark and cold so we headed back to the car through the alleyways were we did finally meet some local inhabitants (of the furry kind!) +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ BACK AGAIN! It's Saturday here in New Zealand. I've been out to photograph a protest, watched Designated Survivor (the latest Netflix binge watch for DH and I) and even been to hot yoga and now I am back into it -------------------- This was a quiet day. We mooched about at home, then took a short drive to the nearby Pont Diable ("Devil's Bridge") which was built in the 1300s. The winter light was absolutely stunning. And I love the vintage advertising you still see occasionally in French towns, this in the town by the bridge was a great example: Out next longish drive was back into Spain so we could check out Besalu, which (apparently) has a great miniatures museum. But we weren't surprised to find it was shut for the first couple of weeks of January. It was still a very cool place though. The flag is the Catalan flag which is everywhere in this region. This was a few months before the Catalan independence debate really fired up. The President of the region Carles Puigdemont is currently in Denmark hoping to find a country that will grant him asylum as he faces charges of "rebellion" (treason) in Spain. ++++++++++++++ (I can't attach any more pics to this post so scroll down if you want to see the rest!)
Good luck..... I've got a ton to scrap but no motivation and in the middle of moving...so I'll catch the next sale
Man, I really need to set a goal like this to finish my 2016 Disney album. Can't wait to see the rest of the pages you share - your album templates are the BEST!!
I'm going to see what the tomorrow brings for me and if I can get something ready to go. I love these sales and hate to see them pass.
Good for you Lynn! I saw that sale and groaned because I might have been able to finish my England 2016 but not this weekend. Another sale ...but it reminds me to Get It Done!
I saw that sale too... it's SUCH a great sale, but I don't think I'll be able to finish my current book on time for this one. I think I have 32 pages left to go and I'm leaving town this weekend. I'll be cheering you on instead. You can do it! Your book looks amazing already! I would love to vacation with your family. You guys always go such cool places and your photos are amazing!
You're on a roll, Lynn! I'd love to get a book together, but like others have said, this just isn't the weekend for me. But...I might just do a book for the kids, where I plop LOs into a book and print it. It won't be around an event or a year or a vacation or anything lol, but the kids actually like that jump in time. It's a surprise when they turn the pages. Anyway, good for you! GO GO GO!
ohhh @LynnG !!! I'm drooling over your pages/travel photos!! it's so amazing! good luck on your marathon
WAY to go! @LynnG - send some of that scrappin mojo and speed my way. I really need to get going again on my son's mission book.
LAST ONES FOR THE DAY We flew out of Frankfurt - finally! (Engine troubles) and landed in Chicago in the dark, then drove to Wisconsin Dells (as it was halfway to where we wanted to be). It was somewhat disconcerting to go straight from Germany to a Roman Empire themed theme park motel room in middle America. Thanks to the time difference we were up at 4am the next morning. Time to scrape the ice off the car and head to Starbucks for coffee then an explore of the very wierd main street! I'll be back tomorrow ...
