ok I'm done the Christmas RUSH.. and HOw many Presents..

    You missed me Didn't you?:rollingpin

    Ha ha ha

I had a rush of clients who wanted last minute photo orders and I had so many to put in all I was doing is editing and printing. I think I could edit a picture in my sleep now. But I am finally DONE! DONE DONE DONE! And it won't get crazy like that till next december when I will pull my hair out and get no sleep.

Anyways I just wanted to ask this question:

How many presents do you buy your kids for Christmas?
Last night w were finishing wrapping the kids stuff and I asked my husband if we had enough for the kids and he laughed at me :( He said most kids get 3 presents each and our kids have like 30 each:think Growing up I always remember tons of presents for me to unwrap and I just wanted to pass the tradition on to my kids. I shop throughout the year so when Christmas comes it is never a big burden on our wallets. But I think we have spent close to $1500 on the kids this year(including everything all year that i bought). But I spent $1500 on him so I figured it was fair :happydance2 ANd I'm expecting him to buy me a Canon 5DM2 for Christmas:photo with the 85mm f/1.2 and that will cost him over $5000 :happydance Yeah it's not going to happen but I keep putting the BUG in his ear:dreamy I paid for all my christmas presents from my photography so he should just do more side jobs to support my business :flirty
    HA HA HA

anyways don't make me sound crazy people! How many presents do you get your kids for christmas?

30!!! Geez woman! I try not to count, but between Santa, stockings and gift actually under the tree probably about 10 each. Of course, this isn't counting want Grammie gets them....then the number skyrockets! :rofl

hmmm.. yeah, not even close to 30... About ten each.. maybe less... for us it's more of a dollar amount. We try not to go overboard because they do get gifts from others. Also, Adrien's mom used to spend ridiculous amounts of money on them at Christmas (that she didn't really have 'cause she was a single mom and had no momey) and I do want to teach my kids that it's really not the amount of gifts under the tree that's the most important. Even though in children's eyes it is! lol.... anyhow...

my kids get 2 from santa..
1 BIG and 1 smaller, the smaller usually compliments the larger one.
(por esamplo....my 11 year old son is getting the new iPod nano...and a iHome station)
then i get them a couple smaller gifts from mom and dad.
    clothes, shoes, needed items etc.
but yeah, that doesn't include the small items in the stockings..
this year i raided the dollar store cuz i had no idea what to do!
i'll be stuffing those puppies with
    glo sticks
    silly string
    bubble gum
    coloring books
    slinkys
    puzzles
    pez despensers
    etc....

No stocking stuffers around here, it's not really a tradition in Brazil. Lucas is getting a Hot Wheels track, 3 DVDs, and loads of assorted Hot Wheels. Plus gifts from my mother, my brother and our friends. That's it!

I did the same thing! They got play d'oh, crayons, chocolate, cars, coloring books... I did get pez dispensers too... but not fromt the dollar store. Stockings are so much fun... oh and tooth brushes and socks... and a fun tradition I started with my kids that my parents used to do with us was Santa would bring those little tiny boxes of cereal for our stockings! It was such a treat! So I do it with my kids now...

When my kids were little my mom thought I was the most brilliant person on the planet because my kids got to unwrap jammies on Christmas Eve, Santa gave them one big present each Christmas morning and then their stockings. Well, it wasn't that I was brilliant...I was BROKE! LOL! And it wasn't as if they didn't receive a ton of gifts from grandparents and aunts and uncles. And actually, except for 2 years ago when I went totally nuts and got the Wii and a big screen TV, and an ipod touch, and a laptop...I've tried to stay sane and keep things rational! LOL!

    This year:
Each kid still gets jammies, one outfit, and something fun in the $30-50 range from us to unwrap Christmas eve. Santa is bringing them a couple of things..sleds, snowpants, and video games for the boys...a ton of books for the girl and their stockings are the most expensive part..with movies, jewelry, games, books, treats, webkins, etc.

We do the new jammies on Christmas eve too!

My mom still gets my sisters and I jammies for Christmas.... it's so much fun to pose for the Camera and be silly with them on!

This was the last page (last year) I did with the Jammies... my little sis moved to Calgary and missed the last two Christmases and we thought it wouldn't be as fun without her. This year she's moved back so we will have more Christmas jammie photos... and yes that's me with the broken foot... fell down the staire carrying Caleb...

We have a limit on how much we spend per kid. They know the limit and they usually email us their list accordingly. This way, they know that if they want something that costs the limit, they will only get one gift.

We don't really do big gifts. We get them 3 presents each and spent about $50 on them plus a few stocking stuffers.

I probably spent at total of $150 per kid - that counting the "santa" gifts. Sorry - I have to make you sound crazy like you begged me not to. :( Oops. Anyway -my girls are so young yet that they have no clue and they don't compare with anyone so I figure we better do it while we can still get away with it!!!!

oh great I do sound CRAZY!

Christmas eve we spend at my parents and open our presents from them there. and when we get home they get to open an ornament, a book a PJ and a stuffed teddy from us.

Christmas morning we open our stocking stuffers, presents from santa and presents from each other (me Jaz, bella and hubby)

This year off the top of my head the girls are getting:
    Jaz(4)
Ds, 4 games, a carrying bag from SANTA
From us - build a bear with 3 outfits and a build a bear tent, clothes, nighties, 5 barbies (including the 3 of the 3 musketeers), zhu zhu pet with bed and 2 accessories, hot wheels, princess shoes, playmobile horse set, little playmobil people, wii wheel, books and a coloring book,

    Bella (2)
    Baby and stroller from SANTA
From us - truck with sounds, RIG with some trucks on it, zhu zhu pet with bed and 2 accessories, mario kart wii with wheel, clothes and nighties, books, horse figurines, polly pocket car, polly pocket roller coaster set, a few thomas the tank cars (molly and 2 others), some track for the thomas set,

    Levi (husband)
-wee piggies life cast statue with out hands and 2 hand ornaments from the girls, a Traxxas Summitt remote control (then i had to buy batteries and a charger) and a team losi rock climber mini remote control, and some stocking stuffers (movie, flashlight, screwdriver)

I knew I should of wrote it down as I was wrapping them. I will update my list as I remember.

Anyways nothing really cost over $50 for the girls except the DS and the mariocart Wii game. But it does all add up.

Our kids are the only grandchildren (or CHILDREn) on either side of the families so when our oldest was about 2 I realized things were getting out of control. We really focus on the REASON for the season @ our house and Jaden makes Jesus a birthday cake the whole 9 yards LOL. So Jonathan and I actually only get the girls ONE gift!!! In our present budgeting their line item is $25. lol Santa only does stockings at our house and Grammy fills those (we go home every year) and between both sets of Grammies and Aunts and Uncles they get TONS AND TONS of loot!

I got Jaden (7) TONS of the Bare Books and some nice markers, she is such a little artist she will be in heaven!!!!!

Addy got a beautiful tutu I bought at a local craft store its SO full and amazing it was a steal @ 25!
