September Random Challenge

Welcome to the September Random challenge!

I was born in 1961. At that time, we only had a handful of television channels, and all shows were in black and white. My parents bought a Zenith color TV as they figured with a 5 year old and a newborn, they wouldn’t be going out to the movies much, and wanted to be ready when TV programs and movies would switch to color. Every night, NBC would show the “NBC Peacock” in color and my parents would run in to the Livingroom to see it! That was a big thing for them!

In addition, I have always been fixated on one part in the movie “Wizard of Oz”. The part where after her house lands during the cyclone, Dorothy opens the door to “Munchkin-land” and the scene goes from black & white to color. (The same with the movie “Pleasantville”)

These are the things I was thinking of when I decided on this month’s challenge.

The Random challenge:

Create a monochromatic page with ONLY 1 ELEMENT IN COLOR. (Black, white, and gray are the monochromatic pallet and use 1 element in color to pop!)

• Papers – solid and pattern must be monochrome. No mandatory number of papers. [Desaturate if you need to.]
• Include at least 1 black and white photo. (You can include more than 1 photo, but photos must be B/W)
• Include a large title.
• Include some journaling.
• Add any additional elements (ribbons, paints, sequins, beads, fasteners, flowers etc.), but make sure the additional elements are monochromatic. [You can always desaturate an element to make it black and white.]

You are funny! I love the pop the one element of color does

 

I think it is fine.. the sequins are grayish in my mind and the This flair is very dark navy almost black. the Now flair is what pops as color... ecru is off white in my mind. well done!
