First of all, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for giving me so much joy, support, the feeling of belonging. Thank you Carrie & Laura and each & everyone of you- I honestly don't think words can explain how much this family means to me.
Now I'll try to be brief (as it isn't me typing & my friend isn't fluent in English..I may even be able to be brief LOL) Here is what happened:

There is this saying that when God closes a door, He opens a window.
I'm quiet sure most of us see this happening all the time.
Sometimes, when multiple doors close within very short intervals.... even if we see the windows opening...we can't look at the bright light coming from them straight away.

As most of you know, the past couple of months had been on a bit of an edge with the evaluations and interviews and hospitals, plus Sarita's wrong priorities, which meant our place was almost worth an episode of Hoarders.
Our corridor lights went, I had been asking Sarita to get on the ladder so I could read the type of bulb we need to replace....and, as my -most of the time adorable- child's middle name seems to be procastinate- this didn't get done .
In not so many words?
I tripped and stumble (I think that is the word) on my crutch in the dark...and I could see in the fraction of the second that I would be eating the floor, probably breaking my wonderful nose job which my parents payed for when I turned 18 LOL ... and on instinct I land in my right arm instead....with my hand first contact.
Hours of wait for X rays- luckily only a fissure fracture (like a dent or a crack on the outside of the bone) but added to my existing conditions...lets say not much fun.
They dressed it and put me on a sling, not allowed to use my right hand until I saw the clinic again, which was yesterday, and now advised to keep the movement to a minimum until it is properly healed.
At the same time we find out that my sugar levels have doubled, my blood pressure is high, my psychological/emotional state had been breaking down (to the point that I forgot I was hosting a chat and then missed my Facebook cover duty - which I had been checking in order not to forget almost every day the previous week) so I'm in la la land with all the medication they gave me, Sarita confiscates my keyboard, gets a Fire stick and retires me to the living room.
I have watched entire series of everything on Netflix, Amazon Video and our Sky TV (which also has a Brazilian channel)
I read a few books that are not all that memorable as they are freebies but entertaining and tried to sleep as much as possible.

The silver lining to this is more like a Golden Lining.... not only I needed the rest (obviously) but also made Sarita realized that I am not eternal so, at least in part, she has taken a bit more responsibility around here and I can see her making a much stronger effort to make things work... and she gave me my first birthday present: new crutches after 13 years!!!!
I didn't use crutches before 2003, I never needed a walking aid (even though my condition was congenital) until I was pregnant when I started using a stick, but after the failed hip replacement in 2003 they gave me standard NHS crutches which (shame on me) I had never even changed the ferrules (hey- I learned a new word LOL)
I just gotten them today in the post so I ll show pictures later you can see them HERE, they are apparently a revolution on walking aids.

Then I come here and find all the love you guys are giving us, and even the frustration of the past week without scrapping gets better :)

But I said I would try to be brief, so I ll stop here. Once again, THANK YOU. Not only for the threads and the ATCs but also for the many private messages/email & Facebook-

Talking about the ATCs... the ones of you who don't do Art Journaling but went for the ATC anyway.... I'll still (I hope) be hosting the chat tomorrow and we will be talking Art Journal, and even have awesome Anne of Alamo with us too, so come over!!!!!!! You can see the times/info HERE

Thank YOU once again, with all my heart!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:heartlub:heartlub:beat:heartslub:beat:heartlub:heartlub

So glad to see you back online Cynthia, we have really missed you here, with your enthusiasm for everything!

:dancebunlooking forward to the chat.... now behave and rest your hand:yup

So happy to hear from you, Cynthia! You have been in our prayers!

Welcome back Cynthia! You are always such an inspiration in how you can see the good in things! Missed you!

Nice to hear details on the story. Your friend is so nice to come type for you even not know much English. Good to have you back even part-time. Take care of that arm so we can start seeing your layouts more often. No rush though.

So happy to 'see' you again! You were missed :-)

Yay on the new crutches, they look pretty flash indeed.

Oh, Cynthia, it broke my heart to read your story and I admire you so much, you see a positiv thing in everything that is happening in your life. We love you girl!! Big big hugs!!!! :heartslub:heartslub

Missed you here ... but mostly just worried about you! Glad to have you pop in, but please don't overdo it!!!! :bk

Those are really cool ferrules!

I'm so sorry that you were injured but oh-so-glad that Sarita is seeing how much you need her help.

((HUGS))

I'm so glad to hear you're on the mend, @MrsPeel - what a crummy turn of events. :( I know what it's like to live every day with chronic pain and health challenges, and how something like a fall can cause a cascade of issues ... it breaks my heart to hear how exhausted and frazzled you were, but it sounds like your injury was a blessing in disguise since it made you rest. Take good care of yourself - we need you around here! Gentle hugs and prayers for a quick recovery. :)

We've missed your shining light here but, most of all, I know we are all SO glad to hear that you're resting and healing. Love you!!

It is so good to see your smiling face on the forum again @MrsPeel ! I was so heartbroken to read about your trials but, like Laura, so glad that you are getting some much-needed rest now! I peeked at the web page about your new crutches, and they look cool!

Now, for the most important question...have you been so bored yet that you've watched Star Wars? :) Or if you need some new Netflix or Amazon Prime streaming recommendations, I might be able to come up with some...

Oh Cynthia, what a horrible thing to have happened! Glad to hear you are resting......... sounds like the Universe had to do something drastic in order for you to just take some time for YOU! So I am glad you are resting up as it not only helps the body but also the spirit! Sending you loads of positive thoughts and great big hugs as well!! xxxxx

It's so wonderful to hear your voice again. Welcome back, I am so happy you are on the mend and with us again.

Goodness, Cynthia, what an ordeal. I hope you are on the mend. Gentle hugs for you!!

Cynthia... oh my! Hugs, my dear lady! It sure has a golden lining.... rest, relaxing, crutches and Sarita's turnaround! Keep focusing on the positive. I'm hoping things continue to get better, you are very missed around these parts! You shine more than you think! :beat
