Hi there, here is a quick link to last month's challenge, and the winner for May was Cath!

For the month of June, Lynn has once again graciously decided to treat you to a discounted product. ALL PAST TRANSFERS PACKS!
All of her (already released) transfer packs are on special - reduced to $0.99, (Nordland Transfers, Bergen Transfers, Walden Transfers and Snug as a bug transfers) but wait - there's more!
Most of her kits include transfers so check your stash. I love adding transfers into my clusters as a foundation element, but you can use them however you desire. Transfers are like paints and are items that you would not add a drop shadow to. See Lynn's post below for description and more examples. Your layout needs to be new and needs to meet The Lilypad gallery requirements to be posted there.

For this challenge you have from today, the 1st of June until 30th of June midnight EDT to create a new layout, post it to Lynn Grieveson's gallery, here at the Lilypad and to leave a comment on this thread with a link to your layout so that we can check it out, leave you some love and put you in the running to win a $10 voucher to Lynn Grieveson Design's store at The Lilypad. Winner will be chosen by Lynn.

    Challenge Requirements:
1.) Use at least 1 (one) large photo (at least 1/3 of the layout size)
2.) Use at least 1 (one) transfer
3.) You must use at least 75% products by Lynn Grieveson, templates count 15%.

I'm still not clear what makes an element a "transfer." If someone can clue me in, that would be great, but what I see here is gorgeous and makes me want to shop even if I'm not sure what I'm buying! :hehe

I think it's something that looks blended in, like paint and ink, as opposed to a separate object like paper, buttons, stickers.

If you look in any kits of mine you have you'll usually find something with the file name 'transfer' - although they are sometimes called a 'rub-on' - and the 'scatters' would also qualify).

Some people call them 'paint' elements too :-)

Basically it's anything you wouldn't add a drop shadow to, but would drop onto your layout.

Here's a few examples from kits and element packs.

Hope that helps! Looking forward to seeing what people create. It's always very exciting :-)

Here's a couple of layouts of mine (the photos are bit too small to qualify for this challenge - but it's to give you an idea of how I often use the transfers behind the photos) I am probably a little obsessed with them LOL!

And in this one the background is actually just a large photo (of which the smaller framed photo is a segment). I blended the large photo into wood paper then threw about five transfers onto it!

Thanks for the very helpful and detailed explanation! I definitely plan to "play along" for this challenge - I have used similar techniques before, just never called this type of element a transfer. :duh

I like the definition you gave that says "Anything that you wouldn't add a shadow to". That really explains it.

I agree, the no shadow added is a great definition.

@LynnG, I see a few transfer items (like the multi-media one mentioned above) that still show at the full price?

To keep it simple, we just reduced the past elements specifically labelled "transfers" - even though for the purposes of the challenge you can use any, including the ones from kits, the new ones in store plus the mulit-media ones you mentioned.

Happy to go in an reduce those multu-media ones too, though, so check back in five minutes LOL!
