DAY 8 Welcome to Day 8 of the Month of Challenges! OOB or Out Of Bounds Years ago, I saw this website: 22 Dazzling Out of Bound Photoshop Manipulations And it goes on to another: 42 Outstanding Out of Bounds Photos I love Out of Bounds the effect is way cool, and when friends and family look at these pages it totally blows their minds! I am betting there are 5 or more different ways to get the effect. I am gonna try and show you how I do it. Then if you are still confused, I have some more videos off YOUTube that may help you achieve the effect. Finding a photo is always my hardest. I like to have something that will come out of the photo. Here are a few of my pages that I have done OOB. I did a video, MY VERY First to help you see how to use Selection Tool to make Out of Bounds and Masking. Whichever works the easiest for you. VIDEO RIGHT HERE RECAP: I am so sorry, I couldn't figure out how to talk on it, but I will.....by next year...lol LINK all 4 layers Three layers of same PHOTO, bottom locked just in case, and invisible next layer up PHOTO cropped to size of chosen frame. then frame above cropped PHOTO then the PHOTO parts you want out of bound! This is where you can use mask. Using a mask is not required, you can use the selection tool, pen tool or just erase however you want to get your Out Of Bounds popping out of the frame. HInts for Masking: Make sure you have your Layer Mask selected (active) before painting on your photo. You can tell your Layer Mask is active by the border around it in the Layers Panel. When you first add a Layer Mask it is white by default so it reveals (shows) everything on that Layer and you won't see a change to your photo. WHITE REVEALS, BLACK CONCEALS. You can Conceal (or hide, or mask) any areas of your Layer by painting over them with black. Bring back a part of the Layer you didn't mean to mask by painting with white. The Foreground Color determines what color your Brush will paint with. You can switch your Foreground Color between black and white by pressing "x" on your keyboard. Here is the final page I did from the tutorial: Your page, needs to have something coming out of the frame or bounds on your page. YOU can go crazy and have big Out of Bounds or just a small amount. I am here to help you learn this technique...ask me questions, and I will do everything in my power to help you master this technique. * Your page must be a new page in order to count for the Month of Challenges. * Please post your page in your page thread you created in this folder. * You should have one post per completed challenge page. * If you complete all 31 challenges, your thread should contain 31 posts. * Please do not comment in the participants’ page threads so we can keep them clean. * Pages should contain at least 75% current Lilypad product (currently for sale in the store from either permanent designers or guest designers). * You should also post your page here in this thread, and people can comment here if they wish
