Say, say, oh playmate, Come out and play with me. Bring out your dollies three. Climb up my apple tree. Slide down my rainbow Into my cellar door. And we'll be jolly friends Forevermore, one two three four! FOUR weeks of FUN!! This is the last week for this challenge (there is one coming for JULY) Week four: Make a dolly. Just have fun with it! Use elements, paper, whatever makes you happy, if you need to start with a human element, just build on it, but transformed the daily into the frivolous! Play with your fonts a bit, and see if you can blend them a bit onto your page. I totally get that not all are on a PC, or using CS/PS as the program. Please, no stress, just do what you can with your particular program, and have fun, that is more important to me! A doll does not necessarily need an actual arm, or eyeballs, but you CAN use arms or eyeballs, but I really would love to see you stretch yourself, and use different elements for body parts! Here are a few images from the web to inspire also: I am also including a small tutorial on how to make your FONTS/ALPHAs that are paint or ink be on your paper. Let's talk about putting words behind onto the paper, not floating on the paper... oh please, friends don't let fonts float! Mini tutorial on putting your words on your paper, like ink would, or paint. Fonts or Paints in real life don't always cover exactly even. Using your FX, and then Blending option (the top choice in pull down menu) At the bottom of the Layer Style window, are two Layer Blend bars. Use the Underlying Layer Move the Black triangle towards the middle til the ink on your font/paint begin to disappear. Stop Then do the same with the White triangle. NOW Click on your ALT button and the triangle will split. Pull the right part til you like the effect on both the white and the black! You can use this effect for great blending on photos also! I love to stack paints and goodies and blend to my hearts delight. Thank you all for playing and if you could put all 4 panels together for the gallery and your layout spot it is a joy to see them as one! Here is my final page with the addition of the dolly panel: Everyone who completes the 4 in one challenge will receive a gift from dear Michelle Godin this month! I'm trying to think of all the lily-pad kits I have and figure out how to make a dolly out of any of them... this one is going to be harder than the others for me I think, but hey... things worth doing aren't supposed to be easy... so I'll be back with mine before the deadline! *crosses fingers and toes* lol!
you can also go to the facebooks of the designers here, and their blogs, many of them have freebies on them, and there is pretty good sale going on right now too! ♥
What if my Dolly doesn't look like a Dolly? The more I look at it, the more I cannot see the body. *boo hoo hoo*
oh almost forgot to post here!!!!! just in case you didnt read in the gallery, I drew the dolly with the mouse, but I sippose in here all proportion and perspective errors are forgiven LOL and the final canvas you really rocked our world Anne!!!! looking forward to next month!!!!
ahhhh....it's week 4 already?! SO glad I have til the third to get this done. I'm totally slacking this month!
I posted in the other thread.... I am going to try your tut Anne.. never did anything with that underlying layer thingy... hmmmm interesting. I can definitely see the difference... I always used multiply or linear burn or color burn,... this is "very interesting" as Artie Johnson used to say on Laugh In!!
I tried your tutorial Anne.. and then I made a style so my fonts won't float Thanks again for the fun,.. I even did an aj after the tutorial!! (made my own word snippets)! Hugs a bunch!!
brilliant on the style making Christa...I have that also. The part I like about the layer is you don't lose color...I am thrilled at your page! Thrilled!
