Welcome to Week 1 of Summer Camp 2025! I am excited to be hosting one of two games we will be doing this week.

Since it’s our first week, I thought we needed to get to know each other! After all, we will be together at camp for the next nine weeks!

One of my favorite games to play around the campfire is TWO TRUTHS AND A LIE. It really is a simple game…

Instructions:

1. Think of three statements about yourself.
2. Two must be true statements and one must be false (the lie).
3. The next person in the forum will decide which statement is false and then give us two truths and a lie about themself.

Make sure you return to the thread and let the person know if they got the right answer!

I will get us started
1. I play the piano
2. I play the trumpet
3. I play the saxophone

Deadline:
Enter as directed by September 3 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. Be sure to log your progress in your individual tracking thread within Summer Camp 2025 - Layouts & Game Links if you are wanting to participate in the additional prizes.

Prize:
One random winner will be selected from the eligible entries to receive a $5 Lilypad gift certificate.

I’m going to guess that you don’t play the piano, since both of the others are wind instruments, so I figured you might play both…

My statements
1. I went horseback riding just last week

2. I love hiking and I currently am walking 20 000 steps per day

3. I live close to the ocean and go swimming where the tides are the highest in the world!

First I had to look up where the highest tides are & see Canada...I don't remember where in the country you are but I'm going to skip that one and say the lie is.....You went horseback riding last week.


My statements:
1. I have a big fear of snakes.
2. I have been to both Alaska & Hawaii but not another country.
3. I, as a child, wanted to be a kangaroo when I grew up.
 
I hardly know you, so it is going to be a big guess... 1/3 chance.
I'd say... 2 is a lie, Elisa. 3 is too good to be a lie LOL

So here are mine:
1. I was really good at math in school, but decided to study something completely different
2. As a kid I loved frogs. If I could get my hands on one, they were sure to get petted and even kissed (and traumatized by these actions, probably)
3. I wanted to become a writer (of children's books) as a child, and recently wrote my first book (printed only, not published)

You got it! It’s been DECADES since I last went horseback riding!
 
Jumping in here. I don't believe that @cfile has a dog.

1. I went to a Catholic school for 12 years.
2. I have brown eyes.
3. I have almost 3000 thimbles.
 
Marilyn, @mcurtt I am guessing the lie is about the brown colour of your baby-blues... Right?
My truths (mostly)
1. I have changed/moved 3 countries
2. Between us the family speaks 6 languages
3. I am afraid of flying

Definitely wanted to be a kangaroo when I was little, lol so you are correct on that funny one! My lie is #1, while I use to not care for snakes I've never been really afraid. Now I actively take my girls places they can interact with snakes & reptiles so they don't have a big fear. My grandma is VERY afraid of snakes, lol

I have family that lives in Alaska so have been 3 times. And for Hawaii I had a cousin with a destination wedding there that I was lucky to attend. I wish I've travelled to other countries, but hasn't worked out yet.
 
@zinzilah I'm going to guess that the lie is #3 that you are afraid of flying.

Mine:
1. As an adult, I have had 4 dogs and 2 cats.
2. I love eggs of any kind!
3. I am afraid of most insects and they gross me out!
