where there are Octobers! (Anne of Green Gables, L.M. Montgomery) And on this first of October, we are celebrating Digital Scrapbooking Day! So tell me, what is it you love so much about Digital Scrapbooking? - Preserving memories? - Telling stories? - Art journaling? - Making hybrid crafts? - Community? P.S. It is also International Coffee Day! And I'm off to grab a cup or two!
I love all aspects of digi scrapping and the parts I love more at a particular time change all the time! I remember a time when I was so thankful that I could make some hybrid crafts! I ALWAYS love the fact that there is no mess and I can stop at any moment without having to worry about pieces getting lost etc. I also love that I can fix any mistakes!
The thing I have always loved the most about scrapbooking (of all kinds; I've been doing it since 1983) is that I enjoy documenting my life and reminiscing. I also enjoy writing, and photographs have always fascinated me. The things I love about digital scrapbooking include: - easy editing - not much to clean up - online community - it's an easy, fun, and beautiful way to print some of my photos The thing I have come to love about scrapbooking that surprised me is that it's a way I enjoy being artistic. I'm not interested in painting, sculpting, drawing, making music, etc. In my pre-digital days, I simply collected memorabilia in notebooks (often writing captions) -- nothing artistic about it -- and I didn't pay much attention to the art of scrapbooking for over a decade of digital scrapbooking. But now that I take few photos because my kids are young adults, I've been exploring and enjoying some art journaling. The thing I thought I was going to be writing about when I first saw the title of this thread: I'm so glad to live in a world where . . . . . . there is so much variety . . . there is so much to enjoy in so many ways with our various senses . . . we are social creatures and we have fun together . . . there are oranges and avocados and soft, cozy things, and the color yellow . . . we have a way to make friends who live hundreds of miles away . . . we cooperate and build amazing things collaboratively (Regarding coffee, I haven't developed a taste for it. It's smells good though.)
Yesss....especially the creating without a mess. That was a primary reason I crossed over into digital!
I discovered digital scrapbooking when Daniel was little and he was into everything. I was constantly having to clean up and put things away (hello sharp tools, I'm looking at you). With digital scrapbooking, everything is contained and there is no clean up. Of course, I do love organizing all my photos, supplies, and layouts . . . but it's easy to hide if it's a horrid mess! LOL I love all my scrappy friends and sharing my layouts. I love being able to quickly share my layouts on social media for family that doesn't live close.
I love everything about digi scrapping. I was a traditional paper scrapper for years and loved it but when I started dabbling in digi, I was hooked and never went back to paper scrapping. I love... no mess affordability with being able to re-use and alter being able to scrap on my pc or laptop the versatility of products just keeps getting better and better the best thing is to stamp and ink without getting my fingers dirty
I love digiscrapping cause I really enjoy the creativity of it. I love that you can do it in a small physical area. I love that you never find yourself short just one flower or you needed 4 "I"s and you only have three.
It's also World Vegetarian Day ! I scrap for saving memories, but also for a creative outlet. Well ... basically because I LOVE IT!!!
Ha! So true! Or you have that odd-ball letter that does not match because the alpha set only contained "one" of it.
Yes! This is #1 for me! I never had enough vowels, especially since my name takes 3 and y! Never mind adding in my maiden name with another y and 2 vowels!
I like that I can store a million kits in a 6 x 6 hard drive and don't have to admit to my supply problem that I have.
