Good evening everyone! I'm going to be starting a slow scrap chat in about 5 minutes. I will also be posting all of the steps here as I add them in the chat. I hope you can join us! STEPS: ONE – The Great Outdoors is often messy, so we are going to make a messy layout. To start, we are going to use at least three papers for our background. All three papers are going to stay full sized (12x12, 8.5x11, etc). Place one piece of paper on the main background. Then add another one on top and move it slightly off the edge of the layout on two sides, so only a little of the base background paper is showing on two sides below. Add at least one more paper and move it off the edge on two sides so you can see a little bit of each of the first two papers. You could also rotate each of the top layers slightly too. TWO – Add a jumble of photos. You may choose how many photos to use. I used four. Each photo must slightly overlap at least one of the other photos. You may also slightly rotate each photo, so they add to your messy layout style. BONUS POINTS if you use photos of something outdoors (but this is not required). THREE – To decorate our messy page, we are going to add some “outdoors” to our page by adding at least 2 leaves and one other bit of foliage. Let’s also add some “dirt” by adding either a paint splatter or a sprinkle of small elements… or you may add both! FOUR – To hold our messy stack of photos together, add at least one fastener like a piece of tape, staple or bit of stitching. Also add at least three other small elements on or near your photos. FIVE – To keep our messy stack of photos from floating on the page, let’s tuck at least one tag and at least one small piece of paper under the photos. SIX – Add a title by mixing either two fonts, two alphas OR one font and one alpha. If your layout is too messy for a title, you can add a piece of paper for a place to put your title. SEVEN – Finish off your layout with a small bit of journaling and a date. Your finished pages must by posted by 9:00 pm ET tomorrow, June 30th. Please post your layouts in the Speed Scraps Gallery and then also post them here so I make sure to get you your prize. ETA: I forgot to put my inspiration layout here. Whoops!
Thank you so much to everyone who came to chat tonight. That was so much fun! I have my next five road trips/airplane trips planned, I have a new recipe to try next week and I RE-learned (again) the difference between a tornado warning and a tornado watch. AND I have my next hybrid project planned. I'm going to make this into a t-shirt and start selling them. What a fun chat!
Fun way to show the distinction of watch and warning. Sorry to miss the chat. It is our 54th anniversary today so we were out to supper.
