Tis the most wonderful time of the year! Welcome to the December Monthly Muse! Week one challenge: Decorate Greenery. This includes, but is not limited to, Christmas Trees, wreaths, planter boxes, or outside décor (e.g., topiary). It is a wonderful time of the year! But it is also a very busy time with all the holiday shopping and family visiting. Those in school will be prepping for mid-terms or finals. There is cookie baking and house decorating…. Hmmm decorating. With so much going on this month, we are going to keep the muse simple and focus on decorating. While the intent is to decorate a simple shape, you are more than welcome to go big and elaborate too! You may use a shape already in your stash, a Photoshop shape, a TLP template, or a royalty free (non-copyrighted) vector image, .jpg or illustration. You may even build your own shape from scratch. A few examples of simple shapes from various sources: You are welcome to make or use a Christmas shape – but knowing we have a global and diverse community here at The Lily Pad you are NOT required to make or use a Christmas styled shape. Challenge Requirements: 1. For the Monthly Muse, you may create any style of layout (ie. clean and simple, artsy, pocket style etc.), with or without a photo. Create any size page you wish. The Art Muse is for everyone; have FUN! 2. You can use any products in The Lily Pad store or retired products from current Lily Pad designers, (just make sure you follow our gallery guidelines). 3. Please post your layout to the Art Journaling Gallery HERE by Midnight, 28 December 2021; and post your layout in this thread by copying the "Share BB Code" to the right of your gallery image. Each post, regardless of the week posted in the month of December earns you one chance to win a $5 coupon to the TLP store. Thus, 1 Muse = 1 chance to win 2 Muses = 2 chances to win 3 Muses = 3 chances to win 4 Muses = 4 chances to win 4. Recap - this week's challenge is to decorate greenery – examples include trees, wreaths, planter boxes or outside décor. Here are two by me: Happy creating and decorating!!!
Great muse, thank you. I went with topiary and used foliage elements to fill the lettered DEC for a DYD pocket card.
Hi! While our challenges are open ended and up for interpretation, I am truly hoping for a tree or wreath or other "greenery" to be decorated...rather than a tag decorated with a tree In future challenges this month, the shape is going to change. Edited to add...if one wants to shape a tag like a tree (wreath etc)...go for it!!! Or use a tag shaped like a tree (wreath etc) - yes!
So, you are saying that I need to participate? I really love how this looks, I'm going to get one done!
As I don't have any Christmassy kits in my stash, I had to do a bit of improvising for this challenge. I used the messy threads by Rachel Jefferies to make the tree (recoloured) and most everything is recoloured as well.
