Happy New Year! I am starting February with you all! We are going to do this a little bit different this year! Instead of having one Polly be your guide for the month we are splitting the weeks. This will bring more variety to a month! We will still follow a theme for the month or an idea but with different takes! I hope is sounds fun for you! This month, I will be in charge of 2 weeks, obviously WEEK 1 being the first one. I want you to check out the January banner. Isn't she pretty! So proper or is she? Well, I found her on a Facebook group where people share royalty free images. The internet is full of images like her, free waiting to be given a story. This first week I want you to find a royalty free image on the internet or an image of a person from an element in the store. (Lisa provided us with the link to The Library of Congress on Flickr.) We have a few designers that have amazing pictures or ephemera that can be use. It needs to be a person, ok? I want them to be in a "scene". I want you to create a background where he/she "lives" in. After making your scene place your person in it. This is all we are doing for week one so go as detail as you want to be or not your choice. This month as you can tell is a progressive challenge. We will be working all month on a final page adding details throughout the weeks. I am going to share with you this beautiful proper lady (or is she?) in case you fell in love with her and can't seem to be happy with anything you find in the internet. CLICK HERE. You may create any style of layout (ie. clean and simple, artsy, pocket style etc.) you wish, with or without a photo. Create any size page you wish. This is for everyone, so have fun and see where the inspiration takes you. Please post your layout to the Art Journaling Gallery HERE prior to March 1st, 2021 and then post it in this thread by copying the code (at the right of your gallery image) from the box under "Share BB Code". We will draw a winner at the beginning of next month for a coupon!! You can use any products in The Lilypad store or retired products from current Lilypad designers, (just make sure you follow our gallery guidelines).
Awesome kickoff Dalis! I'll be pulling from The Library of Congress on Flickr. If you are hunting for vintage photos, no attribute required, there are MANY to choose from there. All sorts of topics too. So many people you can re-home or create new lives for.
Yes Bev, you may place your person in your scene. I am putting on my thinking cap as I will be your hostess too during this month.
Here is my Week One page. My lady was looking at a butterfly but I removed that because she may be looking at something different....
This looks fun! I'll be playing. I just saw this from the flurry of MOC. Thus, I'm a couple of days late. WooHoo!!
Well, I have no idea where you girls are going to lead us, but here's my lady. I used one of Paula's .ladies.
Can we use the art dolls by Rebecca McMeen? Just in case I need that in my back pocket..... going to check out @ArmyGrl recommendation too!
I think I would prefer for them to look more like a real picture even though the lady I posted is not exactly a picture it gives you the idea of a picture, kwim?
