I'm so excited to see all the new people around! If you've checked out the gallery, I hope you saw the gallery rules! They are pretty simple, and pretty easy to follow! GALLERY RULES: Layouts must contain at least 50% TLP products. (Templates count as 15%.) Uploads must be less than 250k. List all credits; no off-site linking allowed. When saving in Adobe Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, you'll see a screen like this: Whatever your program looks like, you'll want to make sure your layout is 600 x 600 pixels. Also, you'll want to make sure it's only 250K. Now comes the fun part! Uploading so everyone can see your layout, and you can play in challenges! Click on Gallery. And then click the pink Add layout button or click on the Add Layout in the bar. Now, choose a category to upload at the top. If you are doing a challenge, pick whichever challenge it is! Then, you can share your layout in other galleries - like a designer gallery. If you hold "Ctrl (PC)" you can choose multiple categories. Now click "Upload Image". Pick your image from the computer. One last step! In that box, add in which kits you used! You can add the link to the kit in the Lilypad store, or just type the kit name. I showed both examples below. Now hit save and it's in the gallery! Want to add your layout to the Thread in the Forum? Use the links on the side! It links your layout photo back to your Gallery so viewers can leave you comments and adore your work! The circled option is the big photo. Perfect for Challenge Threads. The arrow is a thumbnail version. I've used this in my MOC challenge thread, or if I scraplift, I like to use the thumbnail link in my credits. When you go to your forum post, you just paste the code you copied above. No need to press any other buttons. It'll look like this: And will magically change to your layout once you post! Posted your layout, and realized you need to edit it? No need to Delete it and start from scratch! Look here! Edit Your Layout in the Gallery.
Thanks for this! I’ve been using the wrong link this whole time! One other question: When I’m replying to a thread, do I hit the image button and then just paste the link or is there an easier way?
If you copied the link above from your gallery, you just have to paste the code. No need to click on the image button. It'll show as the code like below, but transform into the gallery image. Does that help?
I finally got it. Yeah! I do remember seeing somewhere to make layout 800 X 800, but have now reduced to 600 X 600. Next ? Can I share entire gallery? I know I can share individual Layouts but would like to share with some friends.
The link to the front page of your gallery is: https://the-lilypad.com/forum/galleries/users/janisn.118241/ You can most easily find it by clicking on the "My Gallery" button under your avatar. Is that what you meant?
@bestcee Did something change? I am now seeing a max gallery image of 800x800 rather than 600x600: Your image upload quota: Maximum Dimensions: 800px x 800px Maximum File Size (MB): 1 MB Maximum Storage Quota (MB): 477.4 MB of 500 MB Maximum Items Per Upload: Unlimited Allowed Extensions: png, jpg, jpeg, jpe, gif
Yeah... I think that was actually a couple of years ago maybe? We never made an announcement for the changes, but it allows a little more leniency of file sizes that way. I remember it being discussed in the Polly section of the forum quite awhile ago... but the details are hazy in my memory now. Lol.
@mcurtt Yep. What Karen said. It changed, but resolution can go funky on Macs and mobile and such in the 800x800. Something about the retina screens or something? We had a discussion about it, and I don't remember all the details.
I don’t think so just use your best judgement and maybe spread them out over a few hours if you have a bunch. Here’s what it says in the gallery. GALLERY RULES: Layouts must contain at least 50% TLP products. (Templates count as 15%.) Uploads must be less than 250k. List all credits; no off-site linking allowed.
Great, I wanted to check before I got too carried away....I’ve already uploaded 5 in 3 days but there will be at least be a decent gap now while I sleep
