These were taken at dusk and the background is rather busy but I like how the silhouettes of my granddaughter turned out.
Do i have to have an expensive camera as opposed to my phone. I did some researching and they use a nice camera
Nope! Not at all. The second link I shared in the opening post speaks specifically to phones. On my phone, I find I sometimes have to move closer or farther from my subject, but the silhouette works the same way. I'm not positive if that particular aquarium photo in my examples is a phone, but I know I have ones just like it that are phone photos with the silhouette effect.
hmm, to the drawing board as I have no ideas. wonder what I can find to use this challenge for when i’m out over the next few days.
Airplane? Train? Set a ticket against the window and create a silhouette. Or maybe the building where you interview as you leave it?
Both my interviews this week were online and now finished but you have given me an idea providing I remember tomorrow.
Well now you are going to laugh at me, or with me....? This photo is one of the ones I took this morning... I did go out at sunset and took a variety of others, some serious contenders... was much more up to driving around town at sunset than this morning... For those giving weather reports, we had a little bit of everything.. sunshine and dark clouds and a touch or rain.. Mainly there were beautiful clouds in the sky ... OK... Here it is.... taken in my back yard, looking towards the mountains , that you can't see because of' the clouds... I duplicated the photo and used a Linear Burn blending mode on the top image, to darken and enhance the photo... All the chit chat today has been fun... and some creative photography for sure!!!!
Jan 14 Photography Technique Silhouette Challenge Another interesting challenge. While I was setting up my props (no humans around) it reminded of my dad in his early years of enjoying photography, when he would try different techniques and use props as I have. He had the same problem, never being able to find anyone who would sit still long enough for him to experiment with. And the set under normal indoor lighting
I was wanting to laugh to myself, people on the other side of the world bemoaning the clouds and lack of light, me this side waiting and waiting for sunset so that I could try and try (nope, still too light) to get a silhouette. Love the story I was able to tell with this one though. Thanks bestcee.
funny thing is I always seem to do this when I DON'T want to do it. I bet I have problems doing it on purpose. LOL
