nobody wants to help me put the tree out! It is such a big hassle to do it all by myself. I am so disappointed right now.... and sad... so I ate everything in the pantry.... after losing 4 lbs during the past 2 weeks. I am so upset!
Oh, no!!!! I love it when my daughter will decorate ours by herself. She has an eye for color and style and would make a wonderful interior decorator. But she is tired of decorating the tree by herself, too. So I've had to help more the past couple years. I hope you feel better about it all soon. AND get the help you need. Hugs! PS...I hope your pantry had a ton of yummy things to eat in it! I mean, if you are going to eat it all, it should be wonderfully good stuff, right?
I understand it being a hassle. I've felt that way for many years so I haven't put up a large tree for quite a few years. I think in the last 25 years, I might have put up a large tree maybe 3 or 4 times. Table top trees are my go to especially since there aren't presents to put under a tree anymore. Here is hoping that minds in your household might change.
Here to commiserate, and share some yummy rice and gravy if you're still hungry. I am dreading setting up the tree; the young dude really needs it, needs as much normalcy as possible, but I have to do it all by myself. It's going to suck - and I am (half) seriously thinking about just getting smashed ahead of time. Tequila and tree trimming, what can go wrong?
Awww hopefully they will change their minds and want to help out soon! If not and I were you, I'd just go get me a little tree that was less of a hassle, just for me
My dad said "Sure is easy to take the little ceramic tree out of the box and plug it in." They have really downsized. I usually have 2 trees. I put up the kid's tree, put on the lights, and got it ready for dd to decorate. She said she would do it tonight, but so far nothing happened. It is in the family room and has kid ornaments from long ago. I hope to put my tree up tomorrow. It is my tree and is in the living room. The struggle for me is I usually wrap garland around my stair railing and the railing on the second floor. I talked about not doing it, but dd insisted it would not be Christmas without it. Hope to get it up this week.
I agree with above - get a little tree. It'll hopefully be enough to make you happy, without all the mess and fuss. Or see if there's a charity nearby doing a festival of trees where they sell already decorated ones? That's what my mom did a few years. She felt good, and didn't have to mess with the tree.
Talk to Bianca.. she will help you.. she always puts the tree in her room too.. we are putting ours up today. Put on Christmas music (really loud) and start getting things out and start decorating.. I bet you will have Bianca helping in no time... also I remember the loss of the monkey on the shelf or whatever that animal was that was lost last year.. start with him holding a sad not for Bianca that she didn't want to decorate.. LOL that will fix it.
The ups and downs of Christmas time! She knows is us now, so she is not even putting a tree in her room. I am so sad! Maybe that is part of it!
