    That's only the grocery store ones. Because they have to pick them underripe to ship. If you buy them in season, from pick your own they are red all the way through.

    MMm! I wonder if Sept will be too late for apple season? I'll be that direction, and it would be fun to do pick your own.

    Huh! I didn't know that the California ones could get red in the middle too. I was they were a different breed. Good to know! :) And nope, September is perfect timing for apple picking!

    I use to have a HUGE garden when we owned a house, sadly now though I have no where really to grow anything.. although my neighbor does grow a few tomatos out front by our mail boxes we are welcome to as an appartment community. *sigh*

    Me and the family try to make it a thing to try a new fruit a month.. we have tried some pretty exotic fruits.. My favorite being Jack Fruit! (yum yum).. honestly though I am a huge fruit fan.. I love almost all of them!
