Here we go! This will be our fourth selection for 2019. Like I've been doing the last couple of times, I am posting the next few months (February -May) all at once, so we can all get these books on hold at our libraries in time. The book we will be reading for May 2019 is The Diary of a Bookseller by Shaun Bythell. Please label spoilers or even type them in white like I just did right here(highlight that blank space) so that a person has to highlight it to read it.
OMG! This has to be the most boring book that I've read! >>>> The sun is shining, I found 3 books. I mailed book club books. I almost stopped reading, but I persisted. Bored out of my mind! lol <<<< And it took me forever to read it because I kept falling asleep!
I'm reading it right now (almost finished) and have enjoyed it immensely. Lots of quirky characters, tales of odd customers, what it's like living and running a business in a remote area of Scotland. I've also found it interesting learning about running a book shop and how Amazon has had a negative impact on the entire publishing world.

This has been hard to find! I prefer to read ebooks due to prissy eyes and a grumpy carpal tunnel but my library still has it in paper only so I'll be grumbling and picking it up this weekend.
Oh if you like books, like Scotland, and like quirky characters you may like this one as much as I did. Now, I'd love to visit this shop!
I didn't get to this one because my library didn't have it and I'm so bad about spending money on books when I have exactly one zillion free ones in my list to read already... BUT I do get intrigued if someone says it's a good book. You guys are tempting me to splurge!
Great idea! I usually do try the interlibrary loan, but I didn't remember to try for this one until just now on your suggestion! I found it and it's on it's way for me. I really need a good book too. I've been in a reading slump lately!
