when i use my styles for shadows they come out square, when i tried to put a layer mask on a photo it wont reverse the color. other wierd things. i find it happens after i have already done a few things that work ok then goes wonky. if i shut down it seems to help and then works. wondering if me or the update?

The shadow thing is known. There's a thread with the fix, let me find it!

Thank you. I will try the fix. The mask is really wierd and preventing me from doing today’s challenge. Ugh. Also I find the transform is wierd. I think now you don’t have to hold down shift to bring in s corner and keep it from getting distorted but sometimes it doesn’t work and transform gets wierd

You’re correct that you no longer have to hold the shift key to maintain the aspect ratio. Holding it down now does the opposite and allows you to transform WITHOUT maintaining the ratio.

However, this change from Adobe only affects items that are pixel-based. It does not affect vector items. You still have to transform the old way if modifying a vector item.

All of these changes are with CC2019. Hope that helps.

What Margaret said. But, in other terms:
If you pull in as a smart object, you have to hold shift. If you pull in as a non smart object - no shift.

    That's weird!
What's the Adobe Photoshop version showing in System info?
    Help>System Info> first line.
