I know Tangie has her class here and I have worked a little thru it, but does anyone else watercolor? Coloring of any sort usually STRESSES me out to the max, pencil, marker, forget it! But watercoloring is so relaxing for me. Weird, because you have NO control over things!
Yes! I love watercoloring! I just added these foliage pieces to my shop recently and the next set will be flowers. I'm so excited to share them with y'all. Here are some things I did last fall . . .
gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous Cheryl @gonewiththewind and I'm gonna tag @EHStudios because I have seen her watercolor on IG ... she has recently made some beautiful things too!
I should mention that the top piece was on watercolor paper but the others were just on multi media paper in a sketch book for Inktober last year. You can see how the paper warps . . . so if you are going to watercolor, invest in watercolor paper! And yes @jenn mccabe - I saw @EHStudios creations on Facebook! They are awesome!
I love water colours. I've got water colour paints in tubes, in pans, in ink form, and in pencils, in crayons and in pens .... do they come in any other format?
Gorgeous examples, Cheryl @gonewiththewind I have tried, but have never been happy with the results I got. When I see art like this, it makes me want to try again.
I'm an artsy/craftsy type who can do just about anything I put my mind to doing, but I cannot paint or draw! Tangie's classes have always intrigued me, but drawing and painting stresses me out. I'm glad you find it relaxing!!
And that's why it makes me a little cuckoo crazy lol! I don't do, like, scenery. I've done more abstract or non-representational stuff. But it's cool you've found a medium you enjoy. It can be so relaxing to paint.
@gonewiththewind those are AMAZING!!!!!! @Angela Toucan I don't know if there are more, but I have a ton and I just started! LOL @Cherylndesigns @Tree City @QuiltyMom I am following some tutorials on YouTube also. There is one Let's Make Art that has a live video where you can paint along live or watch it later. They also have a monthly kit with four projects. I haven't signed up yet, but I am very tempted. They trace the pictures onto the paper to paint. I also am watercoloring in stamps. I cannot draw or sketch either!!!!
You should try again! There's lots that I do that I won't share because I don't like them - and I'm not completely happy with these - but I enjoy the process!!!
Thanks for the nudge, Cheryl. I've been organizing all of my art supplies and paper products and have all of my paint and art equipment cleaned up and sorted and containerized. I was actually thinking I'd give it a try again. I have a nice set of watercolors that I bought a few years ago.
Thanks, Katrina. That's what I need to do is watch some You Tube videos. I can not draw at all! Maybe I could learn to paint though.
This is what I've been following! I bought a couple kits first to see if I could even follow the tutorials & get something decent & after doing those couple I signed up right away!! She makes them easy & I'm definitely not an artist! LOVING my results!
YUP!! I haven't branched further yet. I did find another artist with some "easy" acrylic tutorials to follow on YouTube & she has a patreon that offers traceables. I supported that just last week to see if maybe I can use those drawings and use them with watercolor. (I'll use them for acrylics too, but right now the watercolor is calling!) That artist is Angela Anderson. But seriously, the Let's Make Art stuff is really easy to follow along to. I just pause my video if she's going too fast.
Oh! And another thing. The let's make art drawings are FREE & the videos are FREE, so if you already have supplies you can try them! I did the Pig one that way before I got any of her kits.
