My engagement ring is a replacement for the one I lost (don't ask, I am still not over it nearly 10 years later). It is a family heirloom, it belonged to my hubby's great-aunt, and every day when I look at it, I feel very lucky and so happy that it got to come out of my MILs sock drawer and into everyday life again!
Love te circular cut-outs in the background and the little pieces of paper in the corner. Touches like that just add that completeness to a page. Love your clustering.
Claire how beautiful!! I giggled that your Mother in Law took it out of her sock drawer to have her son give it to you to wear! What a wonderful heirloom and love that you are giving it new life. Great journaling and story!!! The stitching in a circle and how you have placed the photo of you wearing the ring in the center is perfect. Great composition and great scrapping! Thank you for sharing and for playing along with the MOC11 Day 7 Heirloom Challenge!
@cfile Christa It gets better! At the time I lost my ring, my MIL and are were not the besties we are now. So she just called out of the blue and said she was coming to London and that I was to meet her at x place. I was like HOLY BLEEP, what does she want. She pulled the ring out of her handbag and said, this was in my sock drawer, it suits your style, you should have it and then told me the story.
