I love living in Southeast Asia! I appreciate the emphasis on family, community and creative expression through art, food, clothing, music and so much more. I love how strangers treat elderly people with the respect and care they would want others to treat their grandparents. I love the importance on belonging and being included, to know that my life impacts others and connection matters. I love how I can connect with someone through food, a love of spices, the beauty of culture through the simple act of time together in a kitchen – whether it be in a skyrise apartment or over an open fire beside a humble home.
