Beautiful tribute page. I still have not been there Dawn. I have a lot of people from my home town who were first responders and perished in the towers. It is very hard especially every 9-11...I just cry every time I hear their names read in the 911 memorial ceremonies. Two of them were brothers - the Vigiano brothers. One was a Police officer (Joseph) and one was FDNY - (John was Ladder 132). Also Special Ops Chief Raymond Downey. There were so many more from my home town as well. So very sad .. I wish they would make that day a holiday in tribute to all the people who were lost that fateful day. I love how you scrapped this Dawn. Beautifully done.
Thank you ladies @SharLamb@cfile
I'm sorry Christa, I didn't know that <3
We've been twice now - it pulls at your heartstrings. 99% of visitors showed complete respect, walking around the memorial pools in complete silence and gasping at disbelief/sorrow at 'items' on display in the museum. One window and a stair well were left completely intact. 9/11 is one of those fateful days where I can remember where I was/what I was doing etc.
@dawninskip I agree. I remember too. I was at work at the time and was getting ready to go to Germany on the 14th... the Germany trip obviously was cancelled and it was just heartbraking. I am near all the naval bases here in VA Beach so they closed down the area too. Horrible day for sure. Hugs. Beautiful tribute Dawn. Thanks for sharing.
