Sunday lunch time and Mama Mia, Money money, Summer Lovin’ being sung so loudly and delightfully. No microphones needed when salt and pepper shakers will do. Happy times, the meat is nearly ready and the salads are being made while the songs and jingles are being sung. Those girls are fabulous! Even if the guys don’t all agree.
Wow, it’s so quiet today, Monday morning and peace reigns. The washing machine and dishwasher are going, the cats are sleeping. Where is everyone? What is work and school?
6pm, and come on you lot! Supper is ready, no more quibbling about laying the table and unpacking the dishwasher, just pray and eat already! The frenetic energy peaks and then eases off again with them chatting and savouring the after dinner tea time.
What is homework and why does it make her sigh with frustration? She seems so dedicated to doing it for hours and hours, not even wanting to clear away at bed time.
We love watching the children grow older, seeing their friends and activities change, greeting new people, celebrating milestones big and small. They have been here for 16 years and are finally making changes to the garden and a fresh coat of paint on us. Same colours though, what’s with that?
