Talking Wall MOC5

I chose to use a photo of the wall just inside the main door to our home. We moved here 3.5 years ago and I have been meaning to write a bit of the story of the previous owners of our home down, so I used this opportunity to do that. I like how it turned out...

The wall says:
I’ve been standing here for 62 years! A lovely young family came to live here when I was first built and I saw them through many of life’s ups and downs. They were my family for over 50 years! After they spent so much time and effort to make this house bigger, I watched them suffer through infertility and then finally be blessed with a child. Then, they made the big family they always wanted happen through foster care and adoption!
He ran his business here in this room and in the one behind me while she ran the family over there! There was so much love here! Time passed and they got older. Their kids moved away and they were together to enjoy their golden years. He got sick and ultimately passed away. She was left all alone. We were all especially sad the first 4th of July without him here to put on an amazing fireworks show for the neighbors. She took in boarders and tried her best to fill this home with love, but it was hard because this house is so big, and all of their kids had moved far away.
One day, she had all of us painted and the carpet replaced! Young families and business people came to see me and meet her! She had decided to move closer to her daughter and the house was going to be sold! Lots of people were interested but most of them wanted to turn the house into a boarding house for college students. She didn’t want that for me, for any of us! She wanted us to feel the hustle and bustle of a family again! So, she waited! I spent a while hoping each family we met would be our new family...
Eventually, they were chosen for us- a new family to love! We saw her off to her new home and waited for our new beginning. When they came, they came in like a tornado! They moved in in just one day! They hung all these pictures up on me and they stop to look at them often! I’ll always love and remember my first family but it sure is nice to see babies running all through the place again! Now, there is a lot of life running by me again! They throw birthday parties, holiday gatherings, and baby showers! They even have a couple big dogs that run on by!
AND, I saw her hang a foster care license on me next to these photos so it seems like our new family is going to continue our legacy of love and care for foster children!
