============== Journaling:
My first car... I drove Mom’s 1962 Oldsmobile Starfire for many years and finally got some money together to buy my first car. A 1983 Datsun/Nissan Sentra. It was a standard shift car & I couldn’t even drive it out of the showroom. Dad drove it home as I drove his car. When we got home, my brother took me out to teach me how to drive it. We went to St. Cyril’s to the empty parking lot, and I nearly gave him whiplash! I finally got it & then we drove it around the neighbor hood until I got comfy with the gears. Then on Monday it was time to drive to work. Dad drove behind me to help me get going on the parkway. After that I was zipping along on my own! Fun memories. Since 1996, I now drive automatics!
Love this Christa! The strong lines, the arrows and the journaling!
Here in Sweden we have two types of drivers license, one for shift cars and one for automatics. If you get the one for automatic, you aren’t allowed to drive a shift car. Up until now, almost everyone took the one for shift cars, but that have changed since a few years back when automatics became the most common cars.
@Annsofie thank you Ann-Sofie!! Here very little drive standard cars anymore either. If i had to again i would but now that i am so much older, i prefer automatic!!
Original take on the challenge Christa ....
I learned to drive in a standard shift car.
Since about ten years we have been driving a car with automatic transmission and after all these years it was adjusting ....
@marijke thank you so very much Marijke!!! I really had fun with this one.. I drove that car for 13 years until it completely had it's demise Then in 1996 it has been automatics since. I prefer automatics especially as I age
This is fantastic, and I love that you have photos of your first car! The background really makes those photos pop!. I learnt to drive in the UK with a stick shift.. NIGHTMARE. I much prefer automatics, so easy.
