One night, this kid will no longer sneak into bed with me at all hours. One night, he’ll find his comfort elsewhere. One night, both of us might even sleep through till morning.

Tonight is not that night but I can’t pretend there isn’t a deep peace at feeling of his not-so-little feet tucked under my legs and the slow, steady sound of his breathing over the rain outside.
