February Challenges
Hello everyone! It’s Polly Karen back again here to see if you all survived our TENTH Month of Challenges (MOC 10). It’s it crazy and fun all wrapped into one? Well, if you’re missing your dose of a daily challenge, it’s a new month, so we have a new batch of monthly challenges for February. Each month we have 8 brand new challenges that are posted in the forum Challenge Pad on the 1st day of the month. (the BYOC Challenge is posted on the 1st Friday of the month.) You can use the challenges simply to inspire you to keep creating new layouts OR you can also earn yourself a fabulous coupon for your next shopping trip in the Lilypad Store. (2 challenges = 10%, 4 challenges = 20% and 6 challenges = 30%). Those who complete at least 7 challenges will be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift certificate! Isn’t that an awesome prize?!?! You’ll get lots of great memories captured in your scrapbooks AND you could win a fat gift certificate prize!!! Pretty great, right?! So let’s take a look at this month’s new batch of challenges!
1. Style Challenge – The first challenge up for this brand new month is the Style Challenge hosted by Stefanie (Eyeore). Stefanie is challenging you to create a layout that features goodies on one edge or on two opposing edges. Here is a great sample layout that she created:
2. Journaling Challenge – Next up for this month is the Journaling Challenge hosted by Jenn (jk703). Jenn is challenging you to create a layout with journaling about your favorite holiday of the year. Jenn is sadly without a computer to scrap on right now, so the fabulous Carol (Iowan) has created this great sample layout:
3. Inspiration Challenge – Danica (weaselwatchr) is hosting our Inspiration Challenge for February and would like you to draw inspiration from a book cover this month. Simply find a book cover that you love and then create a layout using some of the design elements from that book cover. Here is the book cover that Danica picked, followed by her layout:
4. Random Challenge – The next challenge for February is the Random Challenge hosted by Ashley (ashleywb). If you are like Ashley and didn’t quite finish all of the MOC challenges from last month, she would like to challenge you to pick one of those challenges and finish it this month. Even if you finished them all, pick one and mix it up and try it again! Here is Ashley layout from the January 24th challenge to capture a conversation with speech bubbles:
5. Photography Challenge – Since this month is February and therefore we have Valentine’s day coming up, Natasha (bcnatty) would like you to create a layout with a photo of the love of your life. This could be your significant other, a child, a pet or your favorite hoodie! Ha ha! Here’s a great layout by Natasha about her hubby:
6. Scraplift Challenge – The next challenge for this month is the Scraplift Challenge by Christa (cfile). Christa chose one of our very own Pollys, Barbara (Sokee) as the artist to scraplift this month. Simply pick one layout from the Barbara’s (Sokee’s) Gallery and then create your own scraplifted version. Here is a layout that Christa picked followed by her scraplifted version:
7. Template Challenge – Next up is the Template Challenge hosted by Heather (HeatherB). The challenge is to use the free template supplied by Allison Pennington and create a layout using it. Here’s a look at the free template followed by a sample that Heather created using it:
8. BYOC Challenge – Finally we have the BYOC Challenge. This challenge will be hosted and posted by Courtney (bestcee) on Friday, February 4th, when the BYOC Collection for February will be released in the store. The challenge will be to use 90% of the products on your page from this month’s BYOC collection and from at least 3 designers.

There is your peek at this month’s brand new batch of challenges. Once you create your own layouts inspired by these challenges, be sure to post them to the appropriate galleries as listed above.
