Photographing Food
As I was thinking about what kind of photography related trick I wanted to show to you today, I thought about the countless hours I put in last year photographing food. See, I had this great idea of making a recipe book for my family for Christmas, so starting in April...I began my quest for all things food. Every single dish I made, I took a picture of it. I compiled all of my recipes, added my photos in and make a fantastic recipe book!!At first I was really nervous about photographing food...I'd never done it before. I am one of those people that only likes to take pictures if there's people in them. So where was I to start? The things that apply to photographing people apply to photographing food: light, color, angle, backdrop etc. So as I began I started using a variety of backdrops such as fabric, the grill, clea dishes, paper towels etc. I also shot the food from many … [Read more...]
Tips and Tricks – Weaving
Claire here and no we are not sewing today. However, this technique will really leave people guessing if it is digital or real. So lets dig in:1. place your items one on top of the other keeping in mind where you want the items to over lap each other.2. Keep in mind when you are placing an object, the entry and exit of your item overlapping. 3. Select the item that is not being erased in your layers palette and click on the picture of the item in the layers palette while holding down the Control Key. This will create little marching ants around the object in your project.4. Click on the item that is to be erased in your layers palette and Erase within the marching ants. Don't worry about going beyond the marching ants. The program knows that you want to erase just what is in marching ants. And Voila!Shadowing in Photoshop ElementsNow shadowing woven items in … [Read more...]
