Hi all! Polly Jewelle here with another edition of Behind the Design. With a little bit of pleading and maybe a few bribes we got the designers here at the LilyPad to agree to show off their design spaces at home. They also agreed to answer a few questions about their design space that will allow us to get to know them better. This month we are going behind the designs of
Mac or PC?
PC. Nothing special enough to tell you how much ram etc.
Coffee or tea (or both/neither)?
Neither. I do love the smell of coffee but it smells better than it tastes. Occasionally in winter I will have a hot chocolate. I’m not a big fan of hot drinks.
Guilty pleasure snack while creating/scrapping?
Would anyone be surprised if I said chocolate, particularly Cadbury? Lately I have also been enjoying these soy chip thingies, mmm mm! Oh and popcorn chips, do you have them over there in the US? They’re cool!
Favorite music to listen to?
Your view from your scrap space?
When I’m at my computer, if I look up I can see the sky from the long slot window above my computer. To my left is a large window that looks out onto the yet to be landscaped part of our garden. There is a lovely bougainvillea out there though. Also to my left is the kids part of the room where they have a computer and their crafty space, oh and my red and white striped sock monkey!
What software do you use to create with?
I use Photoshop CS6, Illustrator CS6 and Klik n Kut Studio Maxx.
Favorite photo editing tools?
This isn’t something that I’ve played around with a lot but I do use Lightroom.
Favorite time to create (morning or evening)?
I am usually a night owl but since getting my craft space organised, I have been having fun coming in here anytime of the day.
Favorite thing about your workspace?
I love that I can zip around on my chair to access everything. I love that I have separate work areas for my computer and my crafty stuff and the kids have their own area too.
Least favorite thing about your workspace?
Not enough toys in here yet and I need to add some more colour too. I was going to do a lime green feature wall behind the computers but chickened out. Some days I wish I had done it and some days I’m glad I didn’t. So I think I will add colour through things that I can easily change.
What would you dream workspace look like and where would it be?
Right here where I am, although some palm trees and cocktails would be nice. I love my workspace, I thought about it carefully when we designed our house and it functions well for what I do.
I just got so jealous hearing Kaye talk about her Cadbury chocolate! Here in the US we don’t have that much of it, and what we do have isn’t nearly as good as what other countries have. Wait, we are talking about Kaye’s workspace aren’t we?! Sorry about that little sidetrack there! I was a bit baffled as to what I would see from Kaye’s workspace. I admit I did wonder if she would have millions of little felt pieces tacked up on her wall or in stacks on her desk. How about you? Are you curious what you will see? Lets take a peek in Kaye’s studio.
Swoon! Isn’t it gorgeous?! I love the dark wood furniture she chose. All her little stuffed characters hanging out on the shelves add such charm to the workspace!
What was your favorite part of Kaye’s design space? Let us know in the comments! I hope you have enjoyed this little peek in Kaye’s workspace!

Thanks for letting us peek at your studio, Kaye!! I love the dark wood as well. I need one of those organizers with the bins! Very cool! Yum, I love Cadbury chocolate. I was just talking about Flake in a thread in the Chatty Pad, too funny. I love all your fun little touches to your room, too. :)
