Hello everyone!!Natasha (bcnatty) coming at you with a break from your everyday scrapping to bring you my take on recipes!! Now, as a mom of 3 growing kiddos, who play soccer, basketball and hockey, along with my fiancee who plays hockey and soccer, and myself who plays soccer and basketball...I am ALL about quick and easy recipes. And I have to admit that Pinterest has been my saviour for this. Every weekend, I sit down with the rugrats and the fiancee and pick out dishes from my "Yummy" Pinterest board for our weekly meal plan. And I have to admit that since I began cooking dishes from there, our meals have had so much variety...and there are some really amazing and quick recipes out there!! Here are just a few of my favourites.Warning...may cause drooling!!!Cowboy Spaghetti by Rachel RayMy fiancee absolutely loves this...and how could he not?!? Pocket Pages: Newbie Perspective
Everybody knows that Pocket Pages, inspired by Becky Higgins' Project Life, are all the rage right now. And they are not going anywhere! The concept has been around for a while but it took me, personally, a couple of years to jump on board the bandwagon. My personal story involves completing P365 (a photo a day) in 2010 and it was a fantastically documented year for us! Then I sort of wimped out after that with regards to organized projects and continued scrapping whatever struck my fancy (which, by the way, is totally cool). Last year, I dabbled in the Pocket Pages, doing a 2 page spread a month, but I still havn't completed the year because it is very difficult for me to summarize most of our months in 2 pages and still manage to get any "story" documented. Not to mention, streamlining the photos. I took forever just figuring out what to include! So this year, I decided it was … [Read more...]
Polly Pick – Sucali (Susanne)
I know you have all seen dear Susanne(Sucali)'s pages throughout digiland. I am time and time again amazed at her pages. This Polly Picks Challenge is Sucali. Here are a few words from her about her style of scrapping:I started digital scrapbooking in 2010.I like a more clean and simple style with a lot of white space.Sometimes it takes me more time to create an “empty” page than a “full” page because, in this style, every little element counts and must be in the right place. I often use ribbons, word art and some paint splatters for the background. I love flowers and when you look in my gallery you will see that I have a flower in almost every layout. For me, shadows are important. Each page needs shadows, all in the correct direction and each element needs the matching shadow size to look more realistic. Her Gallery is filled to overflowing with beautiful pages. Now is your chance … [Read more...]

There’s an App for That!
If you're anything like me, a significant portion of my Pocket Scrapbooking is done with iPhone pictures. I've recently started using several apps that help streamline my process, and I'm all about something that will help me get my memories documented more quickly.1. Collect: This app works as a visual calendar and keeps track of my pictures, as well as sending reminders about snapping photos. It allows you to search by date, which is a definite plus for me since I am not always vigilant about keeping up to date with my pocket scrapping. Collect also backs up your photos to Flickr, Dropbox, and your computer. 2. PicFrame: My favorite thing to do with PicFrame is to make a 4x6 photo collage from my phone completely ready to print and stick in a pocket. You can even choose to round your corners! 3. InstaWeather, InstapPlace, InstaFood: I have just discovered these 3 apps, … [Read more...]
Tutorial: How to create your own overlay
How to create your own OverlayBy Dalis AcevedoHi everyone! If you have ever played with me in the Art Journal section of our forum you know that I am fascinated and a bit obsessed with transparent Overlays. They are fun and can add just the finishing touches or starting touches to a page. Overlays are NOT only used in Art Journal but in any page or project. Create your own Overlay by using a mix of brushes and or png files to create more texture or interest in your page. After you create your overlay then just use some color to make it look like paint or clip a paper to it to blend it.I created a video tutorial for you. In this tutorial I am using Photoshop CS5 but the steps can be translated to most of the other programs.Let me show you my before and after pictures of my page so you can see the difference an Overlay can make in your page.Final … [Read more...]
