Hi everyone, Sarah here to show you how I used personal sized planner inserts to create an insert for my traveler's notebook.I chose to use this month's Planner Collection Monthly, Spring Forward. By adding some of the addons as well I had so many items to choose from it made putting this planner together so easy.My first step was to create the cover for my insert. I chose to use one of the personal sized covers from Allison Pennington's Spring Forward: Cover Story for the front cover. I began by creating an 8.5"x11" canvas and then resizing and cropping Allison's artwork to 4"x8" and then placing it to the right hand side of my canvas. For the back I chose a complimenting floral design from Allison's Spring Forward: Does This Make Me Look Boxy v.4 to add just a bit of fun to the back of my notebook, making sure to place the center of the design about 2" away from the … [Read more...]
March Mobile Highlights
Hi all! It's that time of the month again. I've been scrolling through all of the layouts you are sharing on Instagram with the TLP hashtag (#the_lilypad) and I have picked a few from the last month that really stood out to me.First up is this pocket style layout by intense_magic. I absolutely LOVE the clustering across the middle of the page, and how the colors pop and really make the cluster dynamic. This is a great example of how to add visual interest to a pocket page. This layout by afairlyfabulouslife caught my eye right away because of it's use of a big, bold message. I also really like how the papers are layered here, and how some of the edges are curling up. It gives the page a really nice touchable factor. This pocket page by katechris05 is somewhat the opposite of the one by intense_magic. The simplicity here is striking, with the use of black and white … [Read more...]
Make Your Own Egg Tree
Greetings, Happy Pad Scrappers!Polly Liana here, to introduce you to a fun and moving Easter tradition that has been in our family for generations. Since the 1040's, my family has been creating eggs for our family's "egg tree." My Great-Grandmother started it and it's been continuing ever since then. The idea is simple: decorate a few blown-out eggs every year to hang on simple branches, which have been tucked into a heavy base.If you are unfamiliar with blown-out eggs, here are some tips:Carefully poke small holes in the top and bottom of a raw egg.Poke a long "doll" needle (or something similar) into the center of the egg and gently swish it around to break the yolk.Hold the egg over a bowl or sink and blow hard into the top hole. Note: this takes a LOT of work. When all the raw egg has been blown out, rinse if you like then leave the egg for a day or two to dry.Using … [Read more...]

12×12 Hybrid: Pocket Scrapping Style
Hi everyone, Sarah here and today I thought I would show you how you can easily knock out a hybrid layout in a hurry using digital pocket scrapping cards.I decided to work with the March BYOC and chose a few journal card packs from the collection. I printed cards from I Like it When it Rains Journal Cards by Little Butterfly Wings, Beautiful Day Journal Cards by Sabrina Dupre Designs, and Daily Delight Cards by Lynn Grieveson Designs. I also printed off a couple of elements from Daily Affirmation by Etc. by Danyale., but before printing I added a little bit of text to each element using The Angries by Heather Joyce. I also printed a few photos in the 4"x6" and 3"x4" sizes typical of most journal cards.Next I laid everything out on a sheet of 12"x12" white cardstock.I added some journaling to a few of the cards and adhered everything down to the … [Read more...]
