Make It Monday Shaker Card

Happy October!  Polly Robin here with another Make It Monday card.  Today I’m going to show you how I made another shaker card.  My nephew LOVES Spiderman.  He eats, breathes, and sleeps the superhero so I knew I wanted to make a Spiderman card for his birthday.  I used Kristin Aagard’s Superhero kit because it was PERFECT as I designed this card in Photoshop:

Now, I had a Spiderman SVG (not included in the kit), but it was too red if you notice above. I needed to match its color with the reds in the KAPOW word art and buildings.  To do this, I went to Image > Adjustments > Replace a Color:

And used the eye dropper to pick out the red in Spidey that I wanted to change.  This created a mask, and I could then change the color to match the word art:

Voila! He’s a match ????

Next, I created a PDF of the papers and elements I needed to print off (I later decided a black circle would be better, so I cut one out of cardstock):

Once everything was cut out, I placed a clear sheet of acetate on the backside of my white embossed cardstock to cover the hole which was surrounded by foam tape:

Then I turned it over and layered it on the background paper over my glitter and sprinkle bits, thus sealing those in:

I finished assembling my card and mailed it off.  My nephew LOVED it and even sleeps with it, so I’d call that card a success:

Thanks for reading this post and I hope it inspires you to make a shaker card of your very own.  My Spidey senses say you’ll be glad you did ????
