June Challenges
Hello everyone! It’s Polly Karen back again to give you a quick overview of all the new challenges for June. Each month we have 8 brand new challenges that are posted in the forum Challenge Pad on the 1st day of the month. (the BYOC Challenge is posted on the 1st Friday of the month.) You can use the challenges simply to inspire you to keep creating new layouts OR you can also earn yourself a fabulous coupon for your next shopping trip in the Lilypad Store. (2 challenges = 10%, 4 challenges = 20% and 6 challenges = 30%). Those who complete at least 7 challenges will be entered in a drawing for a $50 gift certificate! Isn’t that an awesome prize?!?! You’ll get lots of great memories captured in your scrapbooks AND you could win a fat gift certificate prize!!! Pretty great, right?! So let’s take a look at this month’s new batch of challenges!
1. Scraplift Challenge – The first challenge for the month of June is the scraplift challenge and is being hosted by Heather (HeatherB). Heather has selected our THREE guest Pollys for you to scraplift. Your challenge is to pick just one layout in either Vivi’s (Nemla) or Gaelle’s (Ga_L) or Jaye’s (Jaye) gallery and then create your own scraplifted version. Here is a layout that Heather chose followed by her scraplifted version:
2. Random Challenge – This month’s fun Random Challenge is hosted by Jenn (jk703). Jenn came up with the idea of a blind scrap out of necessity as her laptop decided to die on her as she was making her challenge page, but I think this idea is super fun. She has two different sets of instructions for you listed in the forum thread. You have to pick one set of instructions and create your page. At the end of the month Jenn will post her page:
3. Template Challenge – Next up is the Template Challenge hosted by Jenn (jenn mccabe). The challenge is to use the free template supplied by Nicole of NBK Designs and create a layout using it. Here’s a look at the free template followed by a sample that Jenn created using it:
4. Journaling Challenge – The Journaling Challenge for June is being hosted by Lori (lcpereyra) and she would like you to create a layout with journaling about something you have done that you are proud of. She’d like to see at least 5 complete sentences about your accomplishment. Here’s a great page that Lori created for this challenge:
5. Photography Challenge – The Photography Challenge for June is hosted by Courtney (bestcee) and she would like to challenge you to take a photo of some technology in your life and then scrap about it. She created this layout her son’s gaming:
6. Style Challenge – Natasha (bcnatty) is hosting our Style Challenge this month and would like you to create a layout is to use trios or thirds on your layout. She’d like to see three distinct columns or rows on your layout. You can use anything you’d like in your rows or columns, but you need to be able to see three distinct areas. You can clearly see that Natasha chose to use three columns in her layout:
7. Inspiration Challenge – The Inspiration Challenge for June is being hosted by Stefanie (Eyeore) who would like you to draw inspiration for something in her sample layout. You can chose to make a pocket style page, use her color scheme, use everyday photos like she did, etc. Just pick something you find inspiration from on her layout and scrap your layout using that as inspiration. 8. BYOC Challenge – Finally we have the BYOC Challenge. This challenge will be hosted and posted by Christa (cfile) on Friday, June 4th when the BYOC Collection for June will be released in the store. The challenge will be to use 90% of the products on your page from this month’s BYOC collection and from at least 3 designers.

There is your peek at this month’s brand new batch of challenges. Once you create your own layouts inspired by these challenges, be sure to post them to the appropriate galleries as listed above.
