Make It Monday Masculine Card
Happy August y’all! Here in TX, August means back to school and boy is it crazy getting all my kids moved into different dorms / apartments / houses. I’m exhausted but still need a birthday card for my son, so I made a simple one today. Welcome to The Lilypad’s Make It Monday blog post, Polly Robin here today and I’m going to show you a quick and easy card made with fun papers from EH Studios Pathless Roads paper pack.

Don’t you just love the masculine feel of these papers? Sometimes it’s hard making a card for one of the men in my life since none of them like flowers. However, this paper pack is perfect for a guy card.
To keep it simple, I first foiled my large sentiment onto a cream piece of paper which was cut to 3.75 x 5 inches. Then I layered it on a mat made from one of the papers which measured 4 x 5.25. Finally, I took both of those pieces and put them on my 4.25 x 5.5 inch paper which was adhered to my card. It’s just that simple!

I decided that since I’m already here and have all my hot foiling supplies out, I’d make another sentiment panel. This time though, I matted it on a piece of patterned paper measuring 4 x 5.5 and then layered both of those pieces on a craft card base measuring 4.25 x 5.5 inches. I really like how the horizontal stripes in the paper offset the vertical band.

Which one do you like better?
Well, that’s it for me. I love making two cards in one session so I can build up my stash, and I love that these papers are perfect for my son’s card. Thanks for stopping by and see you next time!

I like the first one with the dark paper separating the sentiment piece from the striped piece, but both are awesome for the guys in our lives! Thanks for sharing! –Becky–
I love ’em both! I always used to struggle so much with masculine cards, but these are both great!
