What do you do when you feel like there is no creativity left? I am sure that at one point or another, we’ve all faced this problem, and usually more than once. It’s one of the most frustrating things, especially when you want to be creative, and just can’t. So what’s the fix? The problem is, it’s never the same thing. There’s not one definitive way to bring back your mojo.
What do you do when your mojo is gone? Here’s some things I’ve tried.
Taking a break – Part of the problem always seems to be when I am trying to do too much and keep up with life. I need to get better at allowing myself some leeway for life to happen. What’s not working is living minute to minute.
Exploring other creative outlets – Hang around on Pinterest and watch all the pins come up. Explore the gallery. Try some of the challenges. Doodle. Sometimes that helps me get back on track.
Brainstorming – One of my favorite things to do when my mojo is gone is to brainstorm new ideas. I have pages and pages of things that will probably never see the light of day, but it helps to work on getting some new ideas on the page to draw from.
Just working – Sometimes, it’s important just to do the work, even if you trash it in the end. The process of getting it done helps to spur creativity.
So what do you do to get past losing your mojo?
I hear time and time again from people that they feel mojo-less. What things do you do what this happens to you? Any insights you want to share?
